The Ropes, Chains, Poles, etc...... Are There For A Reason
So apparently one night when getting off my shift, I was walking through Tomorrowland to go home for the night. It was past park closing when I walked past the Astro Orbitor and realized that the queue hasn't been closed yet, so being a nice CM, I closed it. When I finished closing the line to Astro I then saw two leads, the Buzz Lead and the HISTA lead in the Buzz queue, I think, with CFA. So later, I learned that an elderly lady wanted to go on Buzz, so she hopped the chains and broke it and paralyzed half her body. Serves her right.

Just like the skier who HAS to make one more run before the lifts close and ends up breaking a leg. The ski patrol ends up staying on the mountain for an extra hour hauling his sorry ass down when they'd rather be in the bar warming up and hitting on some bunnies.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Wow, I bet she tries to sue (like everyone else in America). That wuldn't hold water at all in court. They should put her picture by all of the lines. "Why can't we sit on the chains/ go over the chains?" And the CM could just point ot the pic.

Guests don't realize that ropes and chances have a purpose, they act as boundaries, but they tend to sit and swing on them. They are not as sturdy as they might think. I crack myself up when I see the ropes or chains break and the guests eat it!! :p:

That reminded me of when i worked at ALbertsons and found a giant spill. After I cleaned everything up I saw alot of water so I placed 3 of those neon orange foldable fabric cone things. Albertsons has a policy to put 1 out but I used entire caution and coverered the area with 3 or 4 of those cones. Immediatly there was a lady that was pregnant and walked right through that caution erea and broke on of her hips. I was notified the next day by management who thanked me for at least using the caution. So I save Albertsons a major lawsuit.DLRFantasmic!Dan wrote:So apparently one night when getting off my shift, I was walking through Tomorrowland to go home for the night. I cannot guess how often I would say, "Please do not pass over the chains, they are there for a reason."
Annoyed the heck out of me. What, do you think we just put them up for entertainment?

At MKs Buzz Lightyears Space Ranger Spin, a 4-year-old girl was sitting on one of the chains in the queue. She wasn't swinging, just sitting there. The weight of this little girl was enough to rip the anchor of the chain right out of the wall. Don't know if she was hurt or not but just goes to show you that if a little girl can do that to the anchor in the wall, imagine what a grown man/woman or even an older child could do...

This kind of story is exactly why people need to listen to us and believe us. I hate when guests try to tell us we're wrong in our information. We are, sometimes, but honestly who's the one that works there and is more likely to know the right answer.Ansem wrote:At MKs Buzz Lightyears Space Ranger Spin, a 4-year-old girl was sitting on one of the chains in the queue.
