Apprently the owner of Adventure Park forgot to get permits for his new roller coaster and therefore he built an illegal roller coaster!

The next article will have a headline with either ride collapses, kid(s) killed or mother of three electrocuted.

County officials say that a permit is needed for the 44-foot-tall coaster, something Mr. Stottlemyer says he was told he didn't need because Wildcat is not being built as a permanent structure. The coaster has no footings or foundations and is powered by a removable plug. County officials also say that the coaster was not included in a plan approved three years ago.

I am not a CM and do not remember much about the year of physics in college or my AA in science. I do wonder how it will last a week.

Here is what I found out. It opened last year apparently and is 12 acres of stuff the owner has crammed into that small space while maintaining a wild west theme. It has bumper boats, go-karts, a carnival fun zone (not permanent good stuff like Knotts or Disney), miniature gold, paintball and an arcade.

POLITICS: Who is in charge of the safety of the park? There is a major debate going on as to whether the county or state has jurisdiction of the park. The ride is a major point of contention because it was once a permanent ride in three other parks but the current owner says the ride is moveable and not fixed. MINE ALL MINE is another problem as the City of Newmarket wants to annex the property so they can get the taxes while the county is pissed off mad and is fighting the cities efforts.

If the city annexes the property then the park faces new tougher laws which may mean new city laws or exemption or possibly no more building for a long while. Have fun with the pictures and you decide if it is a portable ride or a permanant ride. At first it sounded like a safety issue but now seems to be a full blown political war with the little park getting hit from all sides.

because if he worked for FEMA, he'd probably be opening a horse park or installing a steeplechase coaster

How does one removable plug power an entire coaster? How does a coaster have no footings?

I'm not familiar with Adventure Park. Is it particularly trashy?
