Stupid Guest Tricks

At small world greeter around 9:55. The 5 minute speil for wishes has just begun. I start telling people that if they come onto the ride, they will miss the fireworks. Simple math: 5 minutes till Wishes, a 10.5 minute ride, your not gonna exit the ride until 10:05 or so. You wont be able to get to the front of the castle to see them in time.

Enter SG.

CM: You will miss part of the fireworks if you board this attraction now.
SG: You sure?
CM: Yes. The fireworks will start in 5 minutes.
SG: Well, how long is this ride?
CM: About 10 and a half minutes.
SG: So I should have plenty of time to see the fireworks then.
CM: No, you will miss probably about 5 minutes of the show.
SG: So how long is the fireworks?
CM: About 15-20 minutes.
SG: So I have 5 minutes on this and the fireworks will be over?
CM: Huh? No. If you board right now you, by the time the ride is over you will have missed *checks watch* about 8 minutes of the firework show.
SG: So I'll still have time to go to the castle after this ride?
CM: Not to see the fireworks you won't. Trust me on this.
SG:Well how about if we go on now and leave in 5 minutes?
CM: You cant leave the ride in the middle.
SG:Oh, ok. Well can we ride after the fireworks?
CM: Nope, unfortuneately we close right when the fireworks start.
SG: Then how can we still be inside when the fireworks are on?
CM: Well, we allow the people who have waited in the line since before 10pm to ride it. and we let those who are currently on the ride at 10 finish the ride.
SG: So I have 10 minutes to ride this?
CM: *Looks at watch again* Actually we close the line in about a minute. You need to decide if your going to ride or not because once the fireworks start, this line is closed and I cant let you in.
SG: OK. We still have 10 minutes till the fireworks.
I give up.

Another guest comes up to me at the same time and says "Hey buddy, between you and me, what time do you really close the rides? 10:05? 10:15?"
to which I reply "between you and me, they close precisely at 10:00. *in my head- but if you ask nicely we can hold it open till 9:60 for you!*"

Makes me wonder how people catch their flights home. "honey we still have 20 minutes till we need to be at the airport! so that gives us what? an hour to get ready? ok!"

Haha!! That is great. I would have been pulling my hair out.

SG: What time does the park close?
CM: 5 pm
SG: What time does the ride close:
CM: 5 pm, however those already in the que BEFORE we close the doors at 5pm will get to ride
SG: So if I arrive at 5pm or a little after then I can get on the ride, correct?
CM: If you are not in line at 5 pm when the doors close, you cannot get on
SG But you said that you closed at 5 pm, why can't I get on?

etc, etc,etc :duh:

Sometimes you just cannot win.
