Any one working at MK on Wednesday? The afternoon parade was more entertaining than usual.

My family and I were watching from in front of Ye Olde Christmas Shop in Liberty Square. The "finale" float is rolling in front of us. You can very easily see the end of the parade (banner, etc) as it's only about 15 feet back. Well, a SG (this one almost qualified herself for a new level.... Darwin award guest) runs across the street in front of the huge finale float. And not just in front of it, but less than 3 feet in front of it. The float operator had to slam on the floats breaks. The PAC and parade operators looked like they might need to go change the britches on their costumes. Up on top of the float, all of the princesses lunged forward with the stop. Luckily none of them lost their footing. I know that they are all anchored, but I'm thinking it would still not be all that comfy to be suspended by your anchor from a float. The guest turned around to watch the parade like it was not a big deal. So almost got herself injured/killed, could have injured several cast members, but not a big deal. All because she couldn't wait 3 minutes to cross the street. I'm pretty sure that the PAC couldn't figure out which one she was in the crowd. The leared at that section until the parade was out of site... Anyone else get to witness this jewel yesterday? Takes a whole new level of stupid to make a parade float slam on it's breaks. :oweye: :oweye: :oweye:

Well, look at this another way. Lucky for MK that the guest wasn't hit by the float, never mind the safety of the performers, etc. If the guest got hit, it would have been front page news in the Orlando Slantinal (typo on purpose) and there would have been helicopter coverage of how a poor unfortunate guest was "hit" and injured by a parade float. :duh:

I HATE when guests do that! It is one of my major guest-peeves. Do they not realize that these floats are heavy and do NOT stop on a dime. Sheesh!

The sad part is,if she had been hit,she would have sued, won, the float driver fired and the video would be on Extreme Videos.

actually, no one is anchored on that particular float.

She was chasing after a water bottle and luckily, the driver saw the bottle so she knew to watch out for any guest chasing after it.

NO ONE IS ANCHORED TO THAT ONE??? :dropmouth
You are kidding right?
They anchor Flora, Fauna, and Merriwhether to the Spectrofloats when they are only 3 1/2 feet off of the ground, but Ariel, who is 10 feet off of the ground and resting on a ledge doesn't have an anchor? Who designs that stuff?
I was on the side of the float that she crossed to. About 4 feet back from where she merged back into parade viewing. I didn't see the water bottle. Just the moron.

Yeah I was driving the float she ran in front of. All I saw was a asshole lady running in front of my window. And to think that it was all caused by a run away water bottle.

I tried to find the lady after the parade was over but my attempts failed. She must have snuck out knowing that she almost made princess pancakes. I can see the headlines now.

"Lady runs in front of float, princesses spalttered all over Liberty Square"

If I would have caught her, I would have knocked her silly. I mean she endangered her life, my life, and the performers lives as well.

Oh and to get things straight. I did not see the water bottle right away. I noticed it like 5 sec before she was in my view. So thank god for the e-stop and hydraulic air brakes.

Frankly, the thought that a guest can cause an accident, or injure themselves on a ride, sue the park even though it was caused by their own stupidity, win and the park loses is completely illogical. What, doesn't Disney have any real attorneys that can tell a judge that had the guest not been such an idiot and had obeyed park rules, the accident, injury and loss of life would never have occurred? 95% of all accidents and deaths on amusement park rides are caused by guests choosing to ignore park rules. That's the problem today, people are too afraid to ridicule others, and we have to be disgustingly PC about it. Cops can't call someone a thief, a suspect or a crook, or anything; it has to be, "This gentleman allegedly beat up this lady because she refused to hand over her purse when he requested her to do so." :oweye:  A gentleman doesn't rob people and beat them up. Allegedly means that there's a possibility that something might have occurred. If the woman is bleeding and bruised, and assuming she isn't a total klutz, thereby causing her own injuries, and if indeed there is solid evidence to prove the guy did beat her up, then there is no "allegedly". Cops should be allowed to say, "This slimeball tried to snatch this lady's purse, when she tried to prevent him from taking her purse he beat the daylights out of her." We've gotten to the point where criminals are glorified and victims are losers. A dream come true would be theme park managers getting themselves balls and telling guests that since their stupidity caused a death, injury, or inconvienience to others, they can't sue the park because it's their own stupid fault, not the park's. Someone on another thread said that in France, if you mess around on a ride, you get banned for a week after a lengthy scolding, with the possibility of jail. People have to be taught that going on rides or visiting a theme park is a priviledge, not a right. A priviledge means the park grants you the ability to be in the park or on a ride, as long as conditions are met and rules are obeyed. If you fail to follow the rules, you no longer have the right to stay in the park or on the ride. A right means you can do something (like vote), but there are still requirements (like register to vote, be 18 or older). But the management of theme parks are, to quote Captain Jack Sparrow, eunuchs--snippy snippy eunuchs. :D: They could save themselves a lot of grief, turnover, and frivolous lawsuits if they'd get themselves a working brain, spine, guts and balls, and actually use them.
