These threads have inspired me!

Tonight I was quite bored when I stumbled upon this forum. I must say I had not thought about my time as a CM for some time. I left the park a bit under 5 years ago and miss it dearly. I have since become a numismatist and make more than enough money with a flexible schedule. Reading these posts brings back many "magical" memories of my own and I have decided that in 12 hours from now I will be driving to TDA and heading over to casting! I miss my park damn it...I am coming home!

Quite right! Except in my case I would be a dealer in said market. I actually have no interest in collecting coins =).
And thanks for the luck...sadly I was unable to make it out there today. Hopefully nothing pops up and I can get out there asap.

I knew the CM disease was hard to shake, but a relapse after five years of sobriety? Damn, dude, you have a worse case than I do. :D:

Went down to TDA today and put in my app for rehire! I went through some lame "online interview" that asked the dumbest of dumb questions. Ex. "What would you do if a customer (I was like "customer?") became irrate?" Like someone is going to respond with "I use the back of my hand to beat them until they start smiling again". The Q's were lame..but based on my answers they want me back at 3 on Wed. Question...when did they start this "online interview" thing.

Hmm...
Things did not go as well as I planned today lol. Brief history on how I left the park many years ago.I finished a shift and go out of costume. I then went to DCA and bought myself a crappy pizza and a beer. I took my food backstage to eat with a couple friends who were on break. The next week I get called in by my manager and was told that a lead saw me drinking while in costume. I wear Ivy caps and I guess she confused that with the foods costumes on the midway in DCA. I was like huh?? I dont work in foods so why would I be wearing a foods costume? I wasnt on shift and I wasnt in costume. They were being dicks about it and I did not think to call my union rep. I basically said if you dont believe me I dont care if you fire me. I was pissed that they kept insisting that I was doing something I wasnt.
So the recruiter told me he had to "look into it" and that he would call me in 5-10 days. I was upest damn it. I was told I would have rehire status in 6 months...and now they have to "look into this"?
Feeling sad/jaded atm I hope he calls with a yes...but I dont think that is happening.

Excuse me...you left the park "many years ago"? DCA is only 5 yrs. old. Anyway, drinking behind stage, even when off the clock is prohibited. There will be a write up abt this if reported in your perm. record. Make an appt. at TDA & ask to view your record BEFORE you see or hear from rehire CM. Who did you speak with in rehire? Initials are fine. No complete name please. The rehire CM I'm most familiar with is more than fair. Listens to many stories per day & judges each case & rehire CM individually. Have never had a rehire problem but know for a fact D L Rehire Dept. can be reasoned with if you really want to return. Remember, we are also very short on CMs. You just might have a chance if you view your file & are aware of its content. Good Luck!
