crowds
ok, in the planning stages of a xmas trip. was wondering, since you are all the experts, which day would be the least crowded, monday dec 26th or friday dec 30th? both are holidays for me and i figure would be a little less crowded than the weekend. what do you all think(besides me being crazy to go that week at all, hehehee)

Disneyland on the 26th- 80,000+ people and it's probable both parks will be at capacity.

Decide which one sounds better.

Re: crowds
If you go, make sure you're there at park opening and plan something relaxing in the middle of the day....sit early to watch the parade, back home if it's close enough, get a hotel (if they're not already sold out)...then make sure you stay until park closing. If you're there the first couple of hours and last couple of hours you'll get a lot more done then say 6-7 hours in the middle of the day. But be warned, if you leave the park and try to come back, they may not let you in so you'll need time for people to leave before you do whatever you plan on doing.pnutshuman wrote:ok, in the planning stages of a xmas trip. was wondering, since you are all the experts, which day would be the least crowded, monday dec 26th or friday dec 30th? both are holidays for me and i figure would be a little less crowded than the weekend. what do you all think(besides me being crazy to go that week at all, hehehee)

Re: crowds
Im actually looking forward to the people watching, should be interesting. we are very patient people. i also know we will be back again and again so we dont have to do everything while we are there. this is mostly as a thank you to my mom in law(she watches both our kids every day while im at work and sometimes on weekends so we can have date nights too) the main things we will want to do is small world, pirates, mansion and if we can stay that late(depends on kids, if they get tired and cranky we go home) the fireworks. thats it, she doesnt do "fast" rides. we will take max on some dark rides if we get there at opening. hubby will want to go on space since he hasnt yet, but we can split up for that. luckily max is only 2.5 so he doesnt ask to go on certain things, we can pretty much choose for him. im hoping by the time we go he has grown half an inch since we went in october so we can take him on soarin, he would love it! our other goal for the day is either gadget or matterhorn for his first coaster ride. i still might try to be "sick" one day early december so we can go then, but only if hubby can be "sick" too. we have a fairly strict attendance policy here, but not as bad as you guys. i might get an "occurance"(our version of points) but i already have my 4 good attendance certificates i need to buy it back if i need to. if i can talk hubby into a sick day maybe we can go the 6th,7th or 8th, i hope so, but he is just coming back from a leave so he might not want to do that. we'll see

Re: crowds
Another suggestion - it appears you have wee ones, so I would do the Fantasyland rides first - Pan, Snow White, Storybook, etc. because those are low capacity rides and if you get there first thing in the morning, the wait time is minimal as they are gearing up for the day. The "big people" rides can get 1,000 or more people through an hour, so those lines do move a bit faster (although it may not appear to be the case just looking at the length of a line). Save the stuff like theaters (Lincoln, HISTA), Small World, Tiki and Pirates for times when the kids are getting tired. Those are 15 minute attractions, so those are great for when it's almost nap time. And if your kids are in the antsy stage, I'd have something with me - either purchased there or brought from home - a small toy or two that can keep their attention while waiting for one of the parades or stage shows. Although for some reason, one of our friend's daughters (age 3) - when she gets crabby, all we have to do is go out the gate, sit on the parking lot tram and she gets all happy again - go figure!

So, when exactly would be a good time to see WDW? My boyfriend and I are already wanting to go back... :D:

Check the pricing for the resorts. When it's "value season" there, the parks are generally empty.CerasiJ wrote:So, when exactly would be a good time to see WDW? My boyfriend and I are already wanting to go back... :D:

Or you could just look at the charts inside the guidebook I help edit: "PassPorter Walt Disney World", available at better online and brick booksellers, and at the PassPorter web site.
