Stupid Guest Tricks

oh my goodness.

if i guest asks me "how does this work?" (referring to their seatbelt at the matterhorn) one more time, i don't know what i'll do... but it will be bad.

here are some responses i always think to myself:
3) like any other seatbelt
2) it goes across your lap, and no... just laying it across your lap won't protect you from doom. you must actually buckle it.
1) pray about it


are people really this dumb?
some other seatbelt pet peeves i have are:
1) guests freaking out that they're not buckled and their sled is moving... even though they still have two more stops, and there's a cast member standing over them trying to buckle their seatbelt for them.... but the CM can't because the guest is flailing about wildly and hyperventilating.

2) guests that sit their two small children in the seat in front of them, and spend forever freaking out about their kid's seatbelts without once considering that A) a CM is right there, B) they might need to fasten their own seat belt

3) guests who, upon realizing that there is a second seatbelt and the one around both of them is not enough, proceed to unfasten the one seatbelt that's already good to go... so that they can freak out about not being buckled all over again.

...just needed to vent.

When a CM in the queue of Indy gave us a "how do you buckle up a seatbelt" lesson, I thought he was trying to be funny, and entertain us while waiting. Apparantly, that lesson could have been really useful to some people....

Some man next to me at Screamin' California asked me what those pockets in front of you were for. "I hope it isn't meant for when you get sick?" No, it is to put your stupid hat and glasses in, this thing has a loop!

Yes. My attraction doesn't have any (WDW Railroad).

At least, not if you don't count guest brains, and I don't.

I asked the CM at the Haunted Mansion if my lap bar came down automatically... does that make me a stupid guest? [Not being sarcastic here, just wondering!!!] :D:

Back in the day, for some unknown reason, there was a discarded lap bar left around the station at Thunder. Debbie G. and Karen B. used to do demos like flight attendants just for the hell of it. I don't know who got a bigger kick out of it - the girls or the guests...

I cant count how many times I've told a guest to pull down their harness/lapbar, and the just stare blankly, or they start freaking out becasue they're not restrained and I haven't even gotten to them to check them yet.

if guests spent as much energy trying to fasten their restraints as they do freaking out over their restraints not being fastened, we wouldn't have this problem anymore.

But there are still guests that freak out over their restraint, even though it's safe and has been checked. A restraint is going to have some give, and some guests freak out like "OMG TEH RESTRAINT ISN'T ALL TEH WAY DOWN I'M GOING TO DIE!!!111". Meanwhile, the restraint is down as far as it will go safely and comfortably.

I always love it when I buckle the kids in myself and then the parent(s) ask if they are buckled in!! (not having their own seat belts on, of course) "NO, I just stared at your 3 to 5 year old child and asked, 'how stupid are you kid?!'" If guests would just look around and observe their surroundings, they would understand so much...(right, like thats going to happen). The best story I have was a women asking me "how does this work?" and then proceeds to tell me she was a FLIGHT ATTENDANT!!
