I am sorry, but I must speak out regarding your post, Grumpy!
...It should be boss', not bosses, unless it is meant that more than one boss was to have their heads banged against the circle. :)
Of course, around here, I believe that it is the SGs' heads that should be used...

Actually, to be even pickier, it would be "boss's." The lone apostrophe (', as opposed to 's) is used only when the noun is
plural and ending with an s.
