Today I had a guest come up and say I have a special ticket. It was given to me by someone who works here. I get to go in any ride.

I was at the fast pass return and looked at the tickets. Yes they are one day one park hoppers...and they do allow you to go on any ride. THe standby and fast pass distubution are on the right...

No these are special tickets. Someone who works here said I don't have to wait.

Um...well no those are not special tickets. YOu have to wait liek everyone else or get a fast pass. Next time the person who lets you in needs to tell you the correct rules.

I got to thinking must have been one of the few people who got thier main gate after only 2 weeks of work...that why I sear we all should have to wait at least 90 days for it...

I can't tell you how many times i see people with comp tickets that are soo rude and think that their ticket is special. I jsut look at them and say...yep i got those too for working here.

SPECIAL TICKET NIGHTMARE!

I hear it all the time at Soarin' from both Guests and CM's alike

I am a Cast Member you can let me in now
me: really where do you work?
CM: (ODF, RESORT,GIFT SHOP, DINING, RESERVATIONS, ETC.)
me: Sure can I (get free food, night stay, free merchandise, etc)
CM: NO!
me; Well then NO! :p:
CM: I am going to report you to your manager
me: Let me get them for you. (This is now a reprimandable offense including termination for CMs)
CM: What's your name

DVC Card Holder: I get in free with these, I dont need a FP
Me: Sorry those cards get you two instant FP while we still have them, unfortunately we are out of FPs for the day.
DVC: No "THEY" said we get unlimited FPs wether you have them or not
Me: (Turning the Card Over) I don't know who THEY are but it is clearly printed on the back here Two Fastpasses and Subject to availability.
DVC: Well were not going to buy timeshare now.
ME: Okay, have a nice day :p:
DVC: Whats your name

AP/DG/CM: These a "special" tickets they get us in right away without a FP
Me: No they get you admission to the park, you still need to get a FP
AP/DG/CM: But we were told by so and so...
Me: I'm sorry but you need to find so and so and let them know they gave you wrong information, Distribution is to your right, Stand-by line is right here.
AP/DG/CM: Whats your name :p: :D:

You can get a reprimand or terminated by getting your manager? Or is it because of what TONE you say it in?

Perhaps the CM wants to get fired. If they get fired this way they will be able to collect unempolyment while looking for another job since this was not a termination that was detrimental to the company like stealing.

No a CM trying to scam the system or Cause a huge scene at us they get the reprimand not us, sorry typed it out wrong.

So many CMs are scamming us at Soarin or even Stealing our swap tickets that our Area Manager is PO'd. The Cms get real obnoxious with us and we warn them three times to let it drop and walk away, but some idiots continue then we have to call a manager the manager warns them three times to walk away but they persist and get written up or in a couple cases fired. Cause I am not taking a write up for slipping a swap or re-ad pass to anyone.

Yea its that bad :(

I can see one source of the problem, at least at DLR, with people who are signed in by a CM with a Main Gate Pass: The ticket takers don't effectively communicate the readmission cards to CMs using a Main Gate Pass.

I'm not sure how it works at WDW, but whenever we use our Main Gate Pass at DLR, the ticket taker scans our pass and then hands the CM 4 tickets with a blue-green back and the words DISNEYLAND READMISSION CARD (or DCA READMISSION CARD) with a barcode and some fine print on the front.

About 90% of the times that a ticket taker has actually explained to me what they were, I was told, "These are your tickets AND YOUR FASTPASSES." Now add that statement to a quick, on-the-fly explanation of FP: "It's a system where you don't have to wait in line." A person who doesn't know how the system works is going to think that those cards they just got are going to get them to the front of the line.

I'm not trying to bash all ticket takers; I have a few friends who used to be ticket takers and I'm sure they didn't do that. I've even had a few ticket taker shifts myself. But they're like all departments; they have really good, nice, smart CMs and really incompetent, lazy CMs who only make everyone else's job harder.

And I agree that CMs who come into the parks thinking they are entitled to the world deserve to be reprimanded. They are just as bad, if not worse, than the bad APs who think they own the place. At Strollers whenever a CM raised a fit because we weren't comping strollers or wheelchairs we simply photocopied their ID and our management notified their department. If only we could have those crazy pin trading CMs reprimanded for giving us a hard time.

I was working Buzz Return one day during a busy day when distribution had not been purged all day. Anyhoo, I had been at the position for ten minutes when a mom with her kid and about 6 others came up to me and held up a flick card and attempted to continue to walk past me. I stopped them and asked for their fast pass and they looked at me confused. The mother than proceeded to tell me that the flick card was their fast pass, and the cast member before me had told them they could return at 430 and show me the card and walk right in. I then explained to them that what they were holding was a flick card and they must have picked it up from somewhere because a cm would have just given them a fast pass. I then directed them to distriubution. :p:

It amasing that our OWN CMs will make our job harder than it should be. I dont know about others, but I was never told by a manager, trainer, or by another CM that we get special treatment at the theme parks. The only special thing that we get in the theme parks are the free tickets, discounts, complimentary services.

At WDW the turnstiles CMs (ticket takers) will allow up to the maximum number of guests that is indicated in our MGP. They will then give us the REGULAR admission pass that guests have, that state, depending if there are blackouts, the parks that we are allowed to visit in that ONE day. I guess we have the NORMAL given to our family so then they wont think they can get SPECIAL treatment. Ohh by the way, I guess this is not the same in DLR, but we use our IDs as admission and FASTpass when we use the MGP.

At Disneyland when you use your Main Gate Pass they give you these blue tickets that look like a regular ticket on the back. It saids Disneyland Re-admit (Or Disney's California Adventure if you started there) and states re-admission to either theme park. This "Special" ticket works like a regular ticket. You use it to get your fastpasses and to get back into the park. They are also dated and the one that goes to the cast member gets a big CM written on the back so everytime you re-enter the park you have to flash your ID again.
