When Management Ticks You Off

The thread is just what the name says, how has management managed to tick you off in situations.

The biggest one happened just last night. First let me fill you in on the gesture named the shocker, apparently, to management, it is the most evil spawn of satan ever, that's all there is to it. Well, while riding the coaster during cast ride, I let the sign fly but it's reversed when I do it because it stands for V. 1 (Version 1). Well management decided to jump me for it but the thing that ticked me off is that despite all the guest complaints, despite the fact that any photos with a gesture that remotely comes close to it is supposed to be erased from previews, it still showed up (Which is how management saw it).

So, let me get this straight, I'm supposed to "use my best judgement" and not show that at all, yet we still run the preshow which clearly has Steven Tyler using the sign, and the photos still show up. Maybe I missed the memo, but is it me, or does management have no room to talk if all that is flyin and they aren't doing anything to stop it?

So, how has management ticked you off?

Here's how managment really ticked me off. I now live in Miami and no longer work for Disney. I haven't changed my cell phone number yet, and if they do this again I'll do it very quickly. I got a call last week from my former manager asking me if I wanted to pick up a shift because they were short staffed. I told them exactly what I thought about them. I chose my career for a very specific reason.

The real shocker (no pun) to me was that I wasn't even giving the "correct" gesture. As we all know, to make a "V" you'd have to split two fingers in order to do so. Well, how do you get the shocker from a V. 1 sign?

Oh well, normally I just let the Viva La Bam sign fly anyways...Which is apparently also a no no (I've never had anything said to me about it but when I used to work merchadise, I did time at Coaster photos and apparently, Bam Margera's sign is also the sign of the devil, therefore should be deleted...however, the Texas Longhorns also use this...so basically, there's nothing they can do about it)

Managment ticking me off... many many cases to choose from, none too interesting, though the last was "oh, we decided not to let that location be chosen by senority anymore, so everybody can have a chance!"

Interestingly, back in my college days here in Texas (way before the "shocker) (this website is SO educational sometimes!), non-UT students would sometimes show their disrespect for the Longhorns by combining the "Hook 'Em Horns" sign with the middle finger. Result: the same as the shocker.

I just used to get annoyed when we would stop someone from boarding for height requirement, or backdooring for a too large group or what ever - then the offending guest would scream and yell to speak to a manager and the manager would break the rule that we'd learned from the standard operating manual and let the jerks do what the rules said they weren't supposed to do, making us look like fools for the time being. And of course, your average jerk would enjoy gloating in your face as the manager gently told you "well, why don't we make them happy just this once..." It wasn't just this once - you damn idiots had no cojones! You'd always cave despite telling us to follow the rules - so we were damned if we did and damned if we didn't.

Not my problem anymore...unless I hear of a prospective Hugh visit...

Ok, not my dept. but can any ODV CM @ DL tell me why all wagons & night shifts were cut on Main Street Sat. after 5:30 or 6 p.m.? Main Street was drilled when I ran over for fireworks display. Not even a glow wagon was out. Whatz up with this 2 bit management decision? More glow in DCA than DL. REALLY! This was INSANE. Is manager still on his honeymoon? Or is foods pulling? Just SAD  You ODV CMs have been given headaches lately. Who did you all anger? Sympathies to you all.
