Hello all this is my first post, i would just like to say that i used to work at Disneyland i was a CM at Indy. i worked there for only 3 mos. in 2002 i got termed for one of the dumbest reasons i can think of. a guest got angry because i told her that her child was too small to ride and refused to leave, she wanted to know why her kid could not ride i explained to her again and every time i told her it just infuriated her more, then as she started to leave she saw a little white boy get on and we all know what happend,"why can that little boy ride, it's because he's white huh?, you people are racist." now mind you i am hispanic as was this family, so i don't understand why she played to race card. then a few days later i got called up to the adventureland/fronteirland office was asked to fill out a statement and got suspended for 3 days, then finally got termed. for one guest complaint seems ludicrous to me. i was always on time to work, always picked up shifts, did everything the disney way, now i tried to go back on 3 diffrent occasions and i always get turned down, i dont know why they let me re-apply in the first place. i loved every minute of my employment at the Happiest Place ON Earth, and was very disappointed when i was let go. I then went on to work at Knott's but thats another story.

I can spot a few things that you could have done to help protect yourself.

First (and this applies at Knotts, as well, so if something similar happens, you can do this there as well.) As soon as you saw that this woman was likely to complain, you should have immediately gotten in contact with your lead or a stage manager. In this particular case, it would have been best to bring a superior in immediately so that you would have been able to have someone backing you up in enforcing the ride rules.

Second (and don't try this at Knotts or you're likely to find yourself termed there as well, because you're likely to be branded a Union Organizer, and an excuse will be found to put you on a No Rehire status there.) You should have demanded, when going into a Disciplinary meeting, that a Union representative be present. One of the jobs of the Unions is to protect employees from unfair termination.

Now, as to getting back on at Disneyland, all I can suggest is that you go down to Casting, and ask them what your rehire status is. If it's a No Rehire, you might ask what you could do to appeal the status. Unfortunately, it's very likely that you won't be able to get it lifted without legal action, and I'm not going to open that can of worms.

Call TDA Casting & ask to view your Cast Records. They are open to you if you make an appt. You may even request copies while you are with TDA CM who sits with you to answer simple questions. When you apply @ TDA front desk you will be asked if you ever were a CM. This is in computer & will give your rehire status. Disney has a Rehire office. Ask to speak with Rehire CM & make a futue appt. Never be negative nor confrontational. Explain you'd really LOVE to rehire in. Rehire CM is are pretty cool & cooperative so I've heard. Disney is hiring 2-3000 for the 50th. Never hurts to try via the proper procedures.
CBeilby had some excellent points. Build upon those & approach with an act of contrition. Good luck!

Well first of all i dont work at Knotts anymore i couldn't take all the crap from their supervisors and shift leads and for that kind of money no way. I have tried to re-hire 3 seprate times, they let me apply and interview and they explain to me that there is a restriction on my record but that i can reapply, so i know i am not a permanant no re-hire. but i never heard of the re-hire cm, so i might try to set up an appointment with that person and try to get back in i really do miss my days as a Disney CM. well to those who replied with some helpful hints thank you, and i hope to be part of the Disney family again someday.

First off, you have a Raphael icon. I <3 (heart) you. Greatly <3 you. Or maybe that' s just me <3ing Raphael. So rare to find someone who understands the Raph love.

Second off, teh uber suckage about the guest. Good luck getting back in! Just keep on a trying! My friend was told that they didn't have anything open but to try again and he got hired in within two weeks! Just keep a going for it. Persistence is key, right?
