Epcot's Soarin Is Awesome

Post by ODF'er » Fri Mar 04, 2005 6:40 pm

Epcot had an unannounced cast preview of Soarin today (March 4th). It is awesome. I have never been on the DCA, so this kind of ride was new to me. The queue and everything were done up really nice.

We'll make a wish, and do as dreamers do...

Nice queue area?
Already it's better than DCA's.

Florida has a Soarin now? Neat. I never heard anything about it, so this is sort of news to me. What was the film like?

Based on the the attraction page from the WDW website, it's the same one from DCA.

^It's "To celebrate Disneyland's 50th anniversary" ...and save money.

I hear the one change was that you load from the side to make the load faster. I'm bored so I'll draw a diagram. :rolleyes:

Code: Select all

       DCA:

                   Screen

                A         B        C
       1 ^  ......  ^ ......  ^ ......--->
       2 |  ......  |  ...... | ......--->    Exit (Theater 2, on other side in 1)
       3 |  ......  |  ...... | ......--->
         A          B         C
                   Load

       -------------------------------
       Epcot:

                            Screen

                        A      B      C
               <---......   ......  ......<---1
       Exit    <---......   ......  ......<---2  Load
               <---......   ......  ......<---3

The exit might be flipped in Epcot, depending on how they have the theaters laid out. But the setup still lessens the loading time by a considerable amount of time, since the CM can lead the whole row in at once.

EDIT: MY super dooper diagram looks good when I go to edit it, but when it's posted the board formats it.

And most importantly, when asked in the exit survey do most WDW guests realise that the park they just flew over was not the one they are meeting Aunt Suzy at later that afternoon?

I'm assuming a great deal of them won't even know what park they're currently in when asked. ;)
