I'm quite a lurker, but the last few pages of this thread made me want to give you guys hope.
I'm 18, and I grew up on The Princess Bride (both the movie and the book.) Ray Bradbury is one of my all time favorite authors. I've also read The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, and have seen Citizen Kane (actually, I became interested in it because we studied Kubla Khan in my sophomore history class) and several of Hitchcock's films.
There aren't a lot of us teens who have an appreciation for the classics, but we are out there. :)

When I worked at Knott's as an usher for Mystery Lodge, I would get guest that asked me "do you get wet on the water ride?" that was next to the theatre. (Big Foot)

Welcome to SGT Avy.
Sparky86 that is one stupid question that is heard too many times. "Do you get wet on that ride" There are signs saying guests will get wet and wet guest leaving trails of water but still the SG has to double check to see if they will really get wet.
Actually the Haunted Mansion is where Casper the Friendly Ghost comes out and it is fun and happy with toon decorations and happy music.

Since it's summertime across the country, and it's now August, and most of the country experiences the "dog days" of August, invaribly someone will ask you:
"[Is it] hot enough for you?"
My reply?
"Nah, I'd prefer it another 20 to 30 degrees hotter."

*facepalms* Seven signs in the queue, one big sign in front, a cart selling ponchos, a waterfall, guests exiting in wet clothes with water trailing behind them, and the fact that it's a water ride, and they still asked...and bitched when they did get wet.
Funny thing, though. When I worked Roman Rapids at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, I never had anyone ask that.

Just to rub salt in the wound, replace "hotter" with "warmer". Then say something about almost needing a parka.

Hahaha.....this reminds me of when I went to Universal Studios the first time on the Jurassic Park Ride.... I knew I *might* get wet,but I asked the loader,
"I won't get soaked, will I?". He gave me a big ol' grin, said no, and proceeded to put us in the front row.... I had to walk around drenched for hours for my stupidity :drown

That would be September on Maui. The trade winds stop and everyone gets to experience real humidity.
The only thing worse is the Kona (southerly) winds. That brings VOG (volcano smog) up from the Big Island. The tourists can't figure out why their eyes are burning but we get some unbelievable sunsets.

Similar story: with a group of military guys, we asked for the back of the boat so as not to get too wet]
flew[/B] right past the "braking" area at the bottom of the drop and nosed down into the water. I couldn't find a dry patch of clothing on any of us to even wipe off my glasses!
