Had a stash of "old coke" or "coke classic" at the house :) I think I may have switched to Dr. Pepper as well. It was a rough childhood, mom was a diet pepsi fan for a long time :/Zazu wrote:So what did all you died-in-the-wool Coke lovers do during the Great New Coke Stupidity?

Not really. They probably got millions of dollars in free advertising that ran for months.Shorty82 wrote:That occurred when I was a toddler, so before my soda drinking days. What a disaster that turned out to be for Coke.

There is a display that talks about it at the World of Coke in Atlanta. They were a bit embarrassed, but I'm glad they talk about it.hobie16 wrote:Not really. They probably got millions of dollars in free advertising that ran for months.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

Well I wouldnt go THAT far. I went to World Of Coke last year and loved the show but the tasting room floor was so sticky and I was in flip flops that I really got grossed out.Main Streeter wrote:hobie, YOU JUST PLAIN ROCK!!This would be better than DL or WDW! :)
I have to give props to thier security people. It was so crowded that I turned around my little 4y/o niece that was following me was there a second ago was gone. Of course we freaked out but I ran to the exit where they had a security guy who got on the radio and took a description and within a minute they found her. They were just awesome in keeping my sister from fainting and locating my niece so quickly. She had followed a woman who looked like her Day Care teacher by mistake.
They gave us a great tip when traveling with small kids to crowded tourist spots like world of coke. Take a picture of your kids so you can show security what they look like and what they are wearing. You'd be suprised how when people panic they forget what thier kids are wearing.
Oh and stop at the Varsity downtown. Amazing Chili Dogs.

Re: Overheard in the kingdom
World of Coke was awesome, we had to rush through it, we had to catch a plane, but we still tried all 64 flavors. NEVER try all 64 flavors and then think you can get on a plane. We were ill, but thankfully (first time I've thought this!) our flight was delayed. We got food in us, and all was well.
It was where I first got to use, and fell in love with, the Coke Freestyle Machine.

Oh, yes. The V does rock. But please - "have your order in your head and your money in your hand so we can get you to the game on time." It's just across the Interstate from Georgia Tech, so on homegame Saturdays it's PACKED. Mostly packed on Braves home nights as well. My favorites are a Chili only Dog, onions on the side, Rings (that's ONION rings that are the BEST in the world), and an FO (frosted orange - sort of like a Dreamcicle shake). There are some that like PC (plain chocolate milk) but you have to tell them if you don't want it over ice.NemoRanger wrote:Well I wouldnt go THAT far.
