It wasn't Otter Pops. It was Funny Face Fruit Drink Mix. Funny Face was like Kool-Aid expect it was put out by Pillsbury. The drink was popular in the 1960's. Chinese Cherry was changed to Choo Choo Cherry and Injun Orange was changed to Jolly Olly Orange. It has pretty much disappeared from the market, but I think a small company still produces the drink mixes.
Funny Face was before my time,but as an advertising major,I love the character designs. Anyone have a Funny Face plastic drink set with the pitcher?

Pillsbury!

The Pillsbury dough boy makes me happy.

I have boxes I am going to scan to get his picture from, been meaning to do it all week but time got away from me.

I have early childhood memories of having a little rubber Poppin' Fresh toy that my grandmother gave me. I remember sitting at her kitchen table as a very small child and talking to him. I don't have many early childhood memories so it's amazing that he is such a strong one for me.

I had completely forgotten about this until my husband brought home a box of cookie dough for me just before Christmas.

I didn't know he'd bought them and I reached into the grocery bag, pulled out the box, saw Dough boy's face and immediately burst into tears! Husband, poor thing, stood there staring at me and I told him that I just remembered the most amazing thing.

Such a happy memory.

I love Poppin' Fresh!!!

And Elsie the Borden cow too. I remembered after thinking about doughboy that I had cup at Grandma's that had Elsie on it. Her head was the lid to the cup.

It's no wonder I liked Poppin' Fresh as a kid though looking at his eyes on the box, solid blue with no pupils they look just like my eyes did when I was a kid LOL. I must have thought I was one of his kind :)

I overslept in fact! I managed to drag my sorry self to the mall though and got a pretty dress for our big dinner out on our upcoming trip! WOOT! I forgot that trying on clothes is a fully aerobic sport though I'm going to be sore for awhile!

That may be because he had the same voice as the Ghost Host in the Haunted Mansion. Yup, Paul Frees voiced both of them, plus Captain Crunch, Toucan Sam, Ludwig von Drake, Inspector Fenwick, Boris Badenov, the narrator of Adventure Thru Inner Space, and Francis the Talking Mule!

He also did a whole lot of live radio, once inspiring the compliment, "He does a better Peter Laurie than I do." ... from Peter Laurie! Almost entirely crazy, too. He'd have fit in here just fine.

This is where I confess. . .I have only been on Haunted Mansion once in my life and only recently (2004). My parents would never let us ride it (religious thing) and then when I got older I just didn't feel interested until I went to WDW with my inlaws and it was one of their favorites. My husband still hasn't been on it (it was closed on our last trip) but we plan to go when we're there next!!!

Yep. I too love "spotting" Thurl. In the parks he has an impressive list of voice credits.

Buff, the buffallo head in the Country Bears

Fritz, in the Tiki Room

Bass voiced singing pirate in the PotC

Then outside the parks, too many voice credits in Disney movies to list. Also there are several recordings I have that have his recognizable voice.

The Story of the Haunted Mansion (where he plays the Ghost Host for HM visit by a young couple including a teen Ron Howard)

A recording of the Jungle Cruise as the skipper

And a suprizing Disneyland label record, Songs of the National Parks where he is the narrator. My Parents got this album a long time ago. They were sold exclusively IN the National Parks. I've heard this album since I was young, but recently I listened to it again and my ear was caught by a familiar voice. Checked the liner notes and, sure enough. Thurl!
