Heehee Susi, I'm sure that was spectacular! Last December I sat down to input the blood pressure of a patient who had severe hypertension.... I missed the stool, everyone heard the thud and came running! I was ok, but afterward the Doctor who saw the patient said that I had made the patient's BP go up 20 points.....

OMG, this 81-M is a total GOMER, came in SOB & w/ CP but EKG doesn't show STEMI, just NSR & his 2pk/24/COPD is the prob, get an ABG,CBC w/Diff and chem 7, give him UD Albuterol HHN and Solumedrol 125mg IV post Peak Flow & send him via wc for a CXR PA and LAT, keep O2 SAT >90, & get a RBS,NIDDM x 10yrs. Dammit, why hasn't he f/u w/ his PMD? Call Pharm for his Rx. Who is his CG, I need to find out his DNR status.
Woo hoo, you go Disneymom.

Now, I don't mean to toot my own horn. . .but since the issue of brains has come up, I feel compelled to tell ya'll I'm not as dumb as I look LOL.

I may not qualify for Mensa- especially not anymore since the stroke messed with my brain- but I did test out of high school at the age of thirteen and when the results of the psycho-analytical battery and IQ tests came in, my 'mental age' at the time was calculated and I was 'older' than both of my parents at the time (a fact they kept from me for years LOL)

I was courted by several universities for admission before my 14th b-day. My parents, sadly, did not want me to go to college (long story) and when you're that young, there's nothing you can do about it when they set the rule of law for the house.

I could have been a doctor by the age of twenty-two! Doogette Howser LOL.

Anyhoo.

I have held various jobs in my working life before disability forced me into VERY early retirement, but I'll tell you that nothing matched the pride I felt when I was working for the Disney Company. It's the only job I have ever missed after leaving it (for health reasons) and aside from pursuing that theater career I always dreamed of, it's the only one I wish I could return to.

And while this isn't as exciting as what Disneymom posted (Sadly with respiratory problems I understood a good portion of her post! LOL) Here's something to wrap your brain around. Ever design a pattern that reads like this?
Rnd 4. Ch 3, dc in same st. *1 dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in following st.*
repeat around, join with sl st.
Rnd 5. Ch 3, dc in same st. * 1 dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in following st. *
repeat around, join with sl st.
Rnd 6. Ch 3, dc in same st. * 1 dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in following st. *
repeat around, join with sl. st.
Rnd 7. Ch 3, dc in same st. Work 1 dc into each st around, (still working in F.L.O. as in above rounds 2-6). Join with sl. st.
Rnd 8. Repeat Rnd 7
Rnd 9. Ch 2, dc in same st. *1 dc in next 3 sts in BLO,
decrease. * Repeat around, join with sl st.
Rnd 10. Chain 2, dc in same st. * 1 dc in next 4 sts, in B.L.O. still.
Decrease. * Repeat around, join with sl st.
Rnd 11. Chain 3, dc in same st. dc in each st around, still in B.L.O. join.
that's part of a pattern I designed a few years back. Not rocket science but it's a language of its own.

Okay, I'm done now :) LOL Everybody else was having their say and I felt left out LOL

See, I can't make head or tail of that! Maybe if we sat down together you could explain it to me s l o w l y........
There are many people here with as many different talents, that's what makes everyone so fun and interesting. To not appreciate that and think that
what someone else does is inferior makes someone...STUPID. Not knowing someone else's specialty does NOT make someone stupid.
The most important intelligence is social/emotional intelligence, and it is all too rare!

only a small point, great post!
You never know, maybe in 10 years she could be the "opretive" doctor on your "Grammer".

Embarrassingly, I'm not a doc or nurse and I understood all that! I am a huge medical geek, and if I wasn't too old already or too broke, I'd be in med school.

You should invest in a barstool seatbelt.

Sadly, I too am addicted to Dihydrogen Monoxide. I am of the belief that it is not my parents' fault, I was born with it. Addiction to DHMo seems to run in the family.

So, Uptown Girl, let me get one thing straight. After seven months you gave up on being a Cast Member because you couldn't handle it, right? Now we are clear on that. I am guessing that close to the end of that seven months, you must have been a complete joy to work with. I overlook a fair amount from the company and guests, because I would rather focus on the magic making. I won't make the same money as a Cast Member that you will as a doctor, but I'm okay with that. Besides, you wouldn't want me as a doctor. I get bored with the world around me very easily, and need

Regarding your spelling and grammar, it's not something I usually comment on until you use it poorly in telling me that you are soooooooo much smarter than me. Problem is, I don't care if you're smarter than me, and I find it offensive that you would put so much importance on that. Instead, worry about how you can affect the lives of the world around you.

I am glad you seem to have found your calling in the medical field. I hope you are much more thorough in your studies of medicine than you are when making accusations here. Sometime, if you decide you want to stop being accusatory and conversational, I have a story you might appreciate. But for now, you would glaze over and accuse me of calling you... well, I am not sure what you would accuse me of calling you.

I would go ahead and quit while you're ahead. Okay. Actually, since your reputation is already at the bottom of the barrel, I would go ahead and not pull out the jackhammer. Again, if you wish to have intelligent conversation, feel free to do so. But if you want to be all high and mighty, above everyone else here because you are training in the medical field, then go to a doctor's forum and leave us alone. I don't care for your condescending attitude toward those of us who choose to make our livelihood giving out magic, and neither does anyone else here.
