No Leaning on the Rails, For Goodness's Sake

Several years ago Judy had a very embarrassing moment at the Frontierland Train Station because of leaning on the railing. She managed somehow to get her knee through the space between the 4x4 vertical posts and could not get it back out.

... Finally the CM called RCES and they sent a squad with a Jaws of Life; put the JoL down at the bottom of the posts and it then pushed them apart and she was able to get her leg out.

I wonder what the maintenance people thought of when they had to put the fencing back together.

Probably not much. I had to bust somebody's leg out of that fence about once a month; twice that often at Toontown.

Never bothered calling an Alpha Unit for the job though. We kept an old steel stanchion in the Baggage Room and just busted the stiles loose ourselves. :bbbat:

Judy was, I'm sure, patient. Some of the kids, not so much.

Of course Judy was very careful about leaning on fences in the future.

It happens often when I am working the Astro Orbitor. Some kid is stupid enough to have their knee caught in between the sliding gates and we have to call maintance to bring the jaws of life.

I would think Disney would know how to design railings that look good and were also idiot proof, or at least more idiot proof than the ones they have now.

Build better rails they just make better idiots :D: Nothing is idiot proof, you can slow em down and you can weed some of the more genetically diverse ones out but there are always those...winners in life

Donnie;s dad on the other hand has no qualms about taking pics of his wife in odd postitions or situations. I reallllllly didnt want to see the woman;s backside while gardening or the gory pics of her shoulder after being oprerated on. BLECH!
