Despite efforts being made on other fronts, I think it would probably be a good idea if we booked a backup reservation at cast rate now, while the getting is good. I'll do the deed and use my credit card to pay the first night as my contribution.

Two questions:

1. Shall we be modest and book at Pop Century, or optimistic and book an MK view room at the Contemporary?

2. What are the full names of all the individuals who will be visiting? Please send this data by PM -- no need to invade their privacy further.

Okay, three questions:

3. Anyone in their group have special needs like ECV, dietary restricitons, or refrigerated meds?

Thanks, gang.

Don't forget to reserve a little red wagon for carrying around all those bottles of bubbles! :bubble: :D:

They can't do that. Not allowed to bring wagons (or anything else pulled) into the parks.

Unfortunately, Raffle and I will not be able to make it in March. We have to come later in Spring. We have other family obligations that need to met before we come to WDW and we need to plan a trip to California to do that. BW, I will have a donation for you this month. I hope that is soon enough. What with Christmas and an upcoming trip to the *parents* and one trip to DL for my birthday at the the end of Jan, I will be able to squeeze out what I promised you towards the end of the month. Will that be okay?
I sure wish we could come when the Bubble Ladies are there. Sounds like it is going to be a great time for everyone! :)

OK...the bubble ladies are Elena and Elyse.

Special needs...hmmm...they both smoke and whatever accomodations can be made to facilitate this would be appreciated (e.g. Smoking Room at the hotel [if available]...map out the smoking areas in the park(s) they will be visiting...) Elyse has some bad days and has used an ECV at the park in the past...she has also hoofed it all day, too, so it's a hit or miss thing and someone should ask her directly. Elyse drinks Pepsi (regular, not diet) almost to the exclusion of all else...don't even try offering her water. Elena really favors Vernors Ginger Ale but will drink iced tea (regular Iced tea...not flavored with any other sort of enhancement like passionfruit or such) or lemonade (on occasion).

Also, stop 1 at the park is the lockers as they carry their lives with them like nomads when they come. Coats, extra bubbles, extra drink...it all goes in a locker, so they'll be grateful to have that facility available to them. Otherwise they'll rent a stroller to truck their stuff around in.

As I mentioned earlier, they don't care for seafood (although Elyse enjoys steak & lobster, I expect that'll be pretty pricy for folks to buy for her). Chinese food (not Schewan) is good, and almost anything that is beef (well done...brown all the way through), chicken or pork will be Ok. No veal or lamb (poor little calfie...poor little lambie).

There shouldn't be too much else to concern yourselves with regarding their care & feeding. However, any really pressing questions might be passed through Big Wallaby so he can ask them directly. Ask me if you like, but even after 35+ years I don't think I know it all about either of 'em.

A smoking room isn't going to happen as WDW has made all of their resort rooms smoke-free (including patios and balconies) and has set up designated smoking areas around the resorts. The DSAs in the parks are labeled well on the maps but last I checked the resorts were more hit-or-miss on the maps being labeled.

Susi, that'll work just fine.

Basically, once I find out our price with Alaska Airlines, I will need that available by the 15th, but other than that I can wait on most things until the end of the month. As long as we get the airfare and hotel room by the end of the month, we're well on track and everything else can be played by ear.

Next thing we need to decide, food. Where should I make ADR's and when, do we do anything with DDP, should we do a bunch of meals or just a few, and what are the DO-NOT-MISS restaurants to see?

I'm probably alone in my can't miss restaurant, I vote for Boma. IMHO It's affordable for those on a tight budget, the food is good and varied, It's at AKL which is a beautiful place and being outside the park, a place where someone can visit, eat and not need a park ticket as not all of us are CM's.

In park dining, well I have my favorites, but if we were to plan a really special night at MK with a meal (it's going to be pricey) I would have to say Cindy's. Dinner in the castle would be really special.

As far as anywhere else, It does not matter to me, I'll eat anything.
