This is a good thread. I hate to see it ruined by partisan political discussion.

Why do people wait until they get to an employee then dig through luggage, wallets, hand bags, package and even their body to find tickets, credit card, identification and other stuff they will need. Come on folk you are in line for a movie and are 5th person in line but do not have cash ready then you are next in line and still no cash.

Then people hold up the line and make people angry as they wait. Why should the employee hold up everyone for you.

Another thing that ruins my day at the park is back packs. I do not know how many times I have gotten way layed by them. Rides and shows have a schedule and cannot be waiting while you pack your suit cases for the 3 minute ride. People with back pack whip around and hit store displays and people then walk away without acknowledging the damage they done.

These are the same people who, in everyday life, wait ten minutes in a grocery store line, and stand like a bump on a log while all of their groceries are scanned, and only after the total is announced begin to fish for their checkbook.

You are onto my conspiracy theory that these same 500 people are travelling the globe like Santa Claus, warp speed and then some. There seems to be pattern like you said of the person in the store who waits until the last minute and the person who orders food at a park but waits until the last minute to find his AP and credit card.

500? Nah, too few. I'd believe the conspiracy theory if I kept seeing the same ones, but I'm afraid there are many, many more than 500. And they don't need to travel.

My worst-ever guest experience (although it had some tough compeition)...

About a month after being hired, I was working turnstyles/greeter at the tiki birds, and as it occasionally does in central florida in summer it began to rain...hard. Tiki is rarely used as a rain shelter, but guests are welcome to come in and wait in the pre-show area & then watch the show...however, strollers (unless they're being used as a wheelchair) are absolutly not allowed inside the show or the pre-show area.
So this man, comes running up the bridge, with his *empty* double (rental) stoller. Trailing somewhat behind him is a kid, of about 8 or 9. The dad reaches the wheelchair gate (designated by the great big wheelchair sign on it) and figures out how to open it. As soon as I see this (the room was packed at the time, and I was trying to answer another guests question). I excuse myself from the guests I was talking to and walk over to the gate, where the man has just about gotten his stroller through:
Me: I'm sorry sir but strollers are not allowed inside.
Him: It's raining.
Me: Yes sire, and I'm sorry, but fire code does not allow strollers into the tiki room.
Him: We're not gonna watch the stupid show we just want to get out of the rain.
Me: I'm sorry sir, but you're stroller is still not allowed in.
(By this point I had managed to position myself infront of the stroller, basically blocking him from entering further)
Him: Oh yeah?
(He then rams me (not taps me...but actually pulls back a little and then quickly lurches foward...I'm assuming he was trying to get me out of his way. I jump back a bit as he connects with my shins.)
Him: See. I am allowed in.
(Remember here, I'm new...and not at all used to dealing with this type of behavior)
Me: (probably visably shaken) I'm sorry sir. But as I already told you, strollers are not allowed in here, you'll have to take it back down to the stroller parking area. (which was about 10ft away...)
Him: I'm not going back out in the rain. If it's so important...why don't you go park it.
Me: (just wanting this altercation, to be over) Fine sir. (I begin to walk toward him... He pulls his stroller back possively.)
Him: I'm not going to let my stroller get wet! My kids have to sit in it the rest of the day!
(At this point, he had not even acknowledged his kid...who was dripping wet... Now of course logically, I could have pointed out that the stroller was a) not his b) hard plastic...water would not hurt it c) could be replaced)
Me: Sir, if your stroller gets ruined by the rain, we would be more than happy to replace it. (By this point, I'm probably not smiling anymore..as I'm actually getting kinda nervous..because the guest is getting VERY irate with me)
[And then things spiral out of control...]
Him: There is no way, I am leaving my stroller outside in the rain, you stupid little bitch.
Me: Sir -
Him: What are you going to do? (at this point he has actually stepped away from his stroller, and is beging to advance on me...I'm getting very nervous...) If you try and take my stroller out in the f**king rain, I'll rape you you stupid c*** and then I'll slit your throat.
(that is word for word...i will never forget that moment...) (at this point he has backed me against a pole in the room and has grabbed my arm..tightly, and is only a couple of inches from me). I was 18 at the time, and I was terrified. I would still be very freaked out if it happened today but would have handled the situation entirely differently. I finally realized that this guy was just crazy and obvisouly having a really bad day. I couldn't believe that a father would say such things in front of his own kid...
(By the way, about this time an enigeer showed up and literally pulled the man off/away of me). Luckily I had a lot of witnesses, because shortly after that, my manager and 2 security guards showed up. At this point the engineer was making sure the man didn't leave the area, and I was basically curled up in a corner trying to pull myself back together. Manager showed up...yelled at me for sitting down and calling security. Engineer stepped up and said she didn't call security I did, because this man, assaulted her and was threating her. Manager replies that nobody should have called security. Apparently the security gaurds didn't agree because they both had a hand on the man and were escorting him out, with his kid trailing behind. Several other guests had to come foward and actually tell my manager what happened, because he wouldn't believe me or the engineer!

Just as a side, note, although I asked, and was shaking so badly that I was having trouble standing up after the fact, I was not allowed a moment to go backstage and compose myself.
About an hour later, when my break came, the same manager talked to me back stage, and said that since I was new, he would not give me a reprimand for my behavior (WTH!?!?!), but in the future, I should try and avoid altercations or I would be terminated.
That manager was my homeroom for the next 2 years...We never got along...I wonder why...

Like the OP, I tend to take things a little to personally and I'm very emotional...this time however, I had no doubt that my reactions were "normal/legit" considering the circumstances.

In regards to the previous post (#99)
OH MY GOD! PEOPLE SUCK! I am so sorry that both a guest and a member of WDW management would treat a CM that way. Its absolutely disgusting. It gives me the willies that a cretin like that is allowed to walk the streets of WDW and make a CM feel that way. Why can't everybody get into the whole "Happiest place on Earth" mood for christ's sake?
