Obviously no kid wants a shot, but for the kids' and NURSES' sake, parents, TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR CHILD who is hitting, spitting kicking clawing and biting the poor nurse who is trying to give an injection into the appropriate muscle and/or intradermal or subcutaneous layer of skin!!! At least a gentle, "Timmy, hold still!" will probably not damage his fragile little ego. I often have to remind the parent that THEY are in charge. Most of them look at me like they've never heard of making their child behave appropriately, and my only consolation is that they will have to live with the hellion they have never set limits on!

I absolutely agree. However, it's not that they will have to live with their snowflake, it's that everyone else will also have to deal with their snowflake. Also yours and every other kid will have to deal with the "elitist" kid. And those adults that do will probably not be able to do what they really want to do with the little imp - smack the crap out of him/her.

They must send their kid to Waldorf. We get a group for sailing classes every year that believe they only do what they feel like doing after analyzing the situation. We make it very clear that 1) you will do what we tell you, no discussion and 2) you will do it now!

After seeing we are serious we get very little resistance.
