Odie wrote:Yeah, I know it's old (but not as old as some of the threads on this board that have gotten revived!) but I'm going there anyway.

It's very refreshing for me to see other people who aren't afraid to inject their insulin table-side. Me, I broke all the rules when it comes to this disease (diagnosed at 33 and ~275lbs with Type 1) so I've been kind of figuring out the "right" way to do things. When in public (which included work, at first) I would always go in the bathroom... but you know what? I'm not doing this for kicks. I'm not doing it because you foolishly presume that I "brought it on myself". I'm doing it because I HAVE TO. Diabetes interrupts your daily life enough without being shunned into the bathroom before every meal.

That being said, if I'm eating out with anyone outside of my immediate family, I will leave the table. But strangers at other tables? They'll just have to deal. :) I haven't been to WDW or DLR since being diagnosed, but I can't imagine this would change. Most restaurants are so chaotic anyway, and it's not like I whip my shirt up and expose Huge Tracts of Land. So long as you're discrete, most people won't notice, and if they do, and if they care, that's THEIR problem.

Anyway, off my belated soap box now. Love this site :) Long time reader first time poster and all that jazz. :)
Welcome Odie! :)

Welcome, Odie. The Marsupials should be along, as should the Beverage committee with a refreshing drink. Save that until after the resident Dragon stops by for the safety spiel. Trust me, you'll need it. I'll be back afterwards with a fire extinguisher and pan and broom.

Greetings Odie, I am the resident dragon and would like to offer you a very warm* welcome to that slice of the internet we call SGT. This website contains threads with quick twists and turns and I would like to advise you to not try too hard to keep up with them. Please keep your hands, arms, and legs safely inside the website at all times and enjoy your stay.

*this instance of warm is actually hot**... very hot

**this instance of hot means that you are now literally on fire, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for any inconvenience

Hobie, you really should wait on that until after the dragon visit. I'd imagine it's worse if you don't see him coming.

If you can still focus after that, Odie:
