I know an ICP who worked M:S and he said it was haunted. He said he didn't believe it until one EMH night he was launch director (Person in Charge of Dispatching the Bay). It was getting towards Midnight and they only had a few launches left. After all of the doors had been closed he went to dispatch the ride and he immediately received an error. There was an intrusion (motion detected) by camera 2. He turned on the monitor and switched to Camera 2 expecting to find a box outlining the intrusion like normal. But there was nothing there! He reset the intrusion and went to dispatch and got the same error. Still nothing. Finally after a third time he went inside the bay, saw nothing, and left. The ride dispatched that time. It wasn't until the next day that he realized it was the same bay that the little boy died in. And the camera was looking at the same pod that he was in. Creepy!!!

I've definitely heard the ghost stories at M:S. One woman swore that she saw him. She went to close a capsule, and as it was closing, she noticed a kid without their restraint pulled down. She immediately opened the capsule, and the seat was empty.

The ride always has ride intrusion problems. It'll go off all the time, with nothing in there, but one time they were training, and the trainer stuck the plastic safety man in there to cause an intrusion, and to make sure the CM training was checking behind all the capsules. The CM didn't catch it, and neither did the ride intrusion system.

I've also heard many stories of CMs seeing someone behind a capsule, and when they went to find them to make sure they got out, no one was there.

My friend said that people leave flowers sometimes in the bay.

When I worked Tower in Florida one of the other bellhops told me a good story . . . apparently he had been doing a closing ride-through (we did one for each shaft at the beginning and end of every shift to make sure that all the show elements were working). When the doors opened on the hallway and the ghosts appeared, he could tell something wasn't quite right but he couldn't put his finger on it until later. He swears that he saw 6 ghosts that night in the hallway (there are only supposed to be five: the little girl, her nanny, the bellhop, and the young couple).

That has got to be the best and worst job in the universe. I love that ride, but I would never, ever want to ride it by myself!

If I believed in ghosts, my question would be "Has anyone actually died on ToT yet?"

Legend: Alligators dwell in the sewers beneath Disneyland.

Truth: There are no sewers below Disneyland, and therefore no alligators in them. The secret tunnels are infested with mutant rats, however.

Don't know specifically about ToT, but a co-worker was a history buff (actually his graduate thesis) on the indian tribes that were killed by the conquistadors from the Carolinas down the coast into Flordia. Quite a lot of spirits might be wandering around from them!!

Fun stuff. The other happiest place [is DLR the happiest or are DLR and WDW tied for happiest? What exactly is the "happy" ranking amongst all Disney properties?] was possibly built on Indian burial grounds.

If I remember correctly, Disneyland has a lock on "The Happiest Place on Earth," while WDW is officially "The Most Magical Place on Earth."

So... if you're happier at WDW than at DL, cut it out. :p:
