99.999999999% of the time, we are approached by wonderful, kind, and excited "Make a Wish" families who are always very respectful to our cast, friendly, and understanding of the policies of our attractions regarding the GAC. This family, however, absolutely stunned us, using this only phrase "We're 'Make a Wish' we don't wait in line" as their only response to anything we said.
Now our attraction policy states that if we are in a sustained wait, we take guests with GACs through the alternate entrance. However, if we are not in a sustained wait (which we consider under 20 min) that they use the standard ACCESSIBLE queue. Our alternate entrance is a backstage area, and a cast member must escort the parties from the backstage entrance to the loading area of the attraction.
We had at maximum, a 10 minute wait- probably not even. My colleague attempted everything in having this guest use our queue, as they would probably be waiting longer for alternate entrance access as opposed to using our queue. She of course came back with "We're 'Make a Wish...' yadda yadda yadda." And as another cast member approached the group to ask her about something not related, the first words the mother uttered were "Is this the person that is going to take us back through the alternate entrance?" They even went so far as to expect that cast members with duties outdoors to drop their positions (I might mention that they are SAFETY CRITICAL positions) to escort this party back... in attractions, we can't do that unless we have someone coming in to relieve us of our position...
It amazes me how ungrateful some people can be sometimes...

They do. Doesn't change the fact they were arguing with the CM about what entrance to use.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:wow
I thought that the MAW people had special GAC's? so there was no doubt?
I got that they were arguing, It just looked like they had a standard GAC by the way the incident was written. And were trying to bully their way into the MAW type of assistance.Shorty82 wrote:They do. Doesn't change the fact they were arguing with the CM about what entrance to use.
Not that I've seen. I've only ever seen the families themselves, not anybody from MAW. Not saying there's never helpers just that I haven't seen them.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:also, Dosn't MAW provide assistance in the form of helpers/attendents when they go to a park?
It's possible there are helpers. However, they don't go around with the families (at least, not that I've ever seen).GRUMPY PIRATE wrote: also, Dosn't MAW provide assistance in the form of helpers/attendents when they go to a park?
We've seen this behavior at TT too from some MAW families, and it never ceases to amaze me. One day we had nobody in the princess line and a MAW family came. The manager talking with me told them it would be easier to go thru the line since there was nobody. That day we were very short on CM and it would take longer to take them thru the GAC system. Well they told the manager "We are make a wish, we don't wait in lines, you should know that." The manager said ok and put them thru the GAC system. When she asked for their card they huffed and puffed while I made the card to take them in. They waited probably more than 20 minutes while we found someone that could take them. In the mean time all the families going thru the line were going in and out in less than 5 minutes. They were pissed when I went to take them in and told me off for making them wait. I told them that the wait was the reason why my manager had suggested going thru the line, but if that they had chosen to go thru the other way then they needed to wait. She went bi$%^ng all the way to the room and then when we told her she had to wait again for the faeries she stormed off, not even letting us finish the sentence.ifoundnemo wrote:A colleague of mine had the "joy" of dealing with a family, who had the GAC, and was more than rude to her.
