I too confess to being a Star Trek fan. I have a cheap TNG uniform shirt that I wore only once to MNSSHP. :-)
lady ulrike wrote:Well, as to the Hilton Star Trek Experience, it's something every Trekkie has to do at least once. I mean there's real life Klingons and Ferengi and even Borg running around. Also, at Quark's Bar, you have to have a Warp Core Breach (for those that drink) It's served over dry ice so it's all smoky and stuff...it's a drink that is designed to be shared, they have two different sizes depending on how many will be sharing it. It's served in a big bowl with straws and essentially tastes like an Otter Pop, but it has alcohol in it. :)
Ack, I had one of those things (we had a coupon). It was quite vile and reminded me of cough syrup!

The Star Trek Experience itself was fun though, and I'd definitely recommend it to any fan of TNG or the later series.

Maybe you had a poorly made one or something. I've had them a few times and every time it was like drinking an Otter Pop.

You buy a box of plastic tubes filled with sugar water and freeze, voila, a popsicle.

Louie-Bloo Raspberry
Strawberry Short Kook
Sir Isaac Lime
Poncho Punch (originally Rip Van Lemon until the mid-1970s)
Alexander the Grape
Little Orphan Orange

Ingredients: water, high fructose corn syrup, 4% fruit juice (contains one of the following: apple, grape or pear juice from concentrate), citric acid and fumaric acid (provide tartness), less then 1/10 of 1% sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate (preservatives), natural and artificial flavors, U.S. certified food colors (red #40, blue #1, yellow #5 and yellow #6).

Wow, I thought everyone knew what Otter Pops were, you guys must have been deprived as kids. :p: Yes, it's pretty much a popsicle, but it's in a plastic tube and some always melts and is left in the plastic and you can drink that afterwards, I know I always do. That's what I thought of when I had a Warp Core Breach, but I could see how an Otter Pop might be too sweet for some, especially in a drink.

Wasn't orange called Injun Orange until they got politically correct? Then they changed the name to Jolly Ollie Orange. They even had a Chinese Cherry, pre-PC, which they changed to Choo-Choo Cherry. I think those were Otter Pops unless I'm thinking of some other sugary junk food for kids.

Well, he WAS describing a bad tasting liquid!!!

The frozen treat you describe were call "pop-ups" where I grew up. I remember that if it melted, you could always "drink" the liquid, but it WAS very sweet!

It wasn't Otter Pops. It was Funny Face Fruit Drink Mix. Funny Face was like Kool-Aid expect it was put out by Pillsbury. The drink was popular in the 1960's. Chinese Cherry was changed to Choo Choo Cherry and Injun Orange was changed to Jolly Olly Orange. It has pretty much disappeared from the market, but I think a small company still produces the drink mixes.
Funny Face was before my time, but as an advertising major,I love the character designs. Anyone have a Funny Face plastic drink set with the pitcher?
