Excuse me...are you a relative newbie poster telling me, someone who has been posting here for a few years the purpose of this site??? Gee, after 700-plus posts it's so obvious that I need help trying to make my way through here every day...
And since I worked for the company for 11 years, I suppose that if your length of employment is say, oh a couple of months, you'll be telling me how I should have been doing my job as well???
Alright, now that I understand what I'm dealing with, I know better what I should be doing in regards to Sith-posts...

Ya know Zazu, I had a feeling :p:Zazu wrote:Oh you are *so* mistaken, unfortunately.
I've come to the conclusion that just because something is technically possible to accomplish, it doesn't make it the right thing to do. Not just in this category but sooooooo many things. I suppose ethicists stay up late at night pondering these things...

Funny story about guest with cell phone. They were so caught up in thier conversation that they walked right into a wall. It was so funny. I still remember the look on their face(where did that come from).
Then there was this other guest that was waiting to get onto a ride. They were on their cell with thier boss I think. Well I had to make him wait like thirty seconds more for his safety and he told the person on the other line that "this stupid disney employee won't let me on the ride, oh wait here I go." I think the boss was, can't you wait like thiry seconds more? But I doubt that was said. Well untill next time.

Re: Cell phones in the Parks
On the topic of cell phones, last night I saw the epitome of the wrong way to use a cell in the park. Take a gander (No, not the bird Zazu):
Last night during Wishes: This woman is standind by the exit to the carrousel next to the ropes by Snow White, her screaming, crying kid's head between her knees in what can only be an attempt to prevent the kid from crying? All while on her cell phone. Now, I can't judge as I dont know what the conversation entailed, but you gotta admit that perhaps a quieter location would have been better not only for the kid, but for her precious conversation. Maybe being right by where fireworks are launched might not be the best place for the youngster if their scared of fireworks, but I can't imagine your conversation could have been successful.

That is horrible. That poor woman trying to have a conversation...
Kidding...
In all seriousness, that is so screwed up. It sounds like that poor child was very frightened and his mother could not find it in her heart to comfort him/her. That is sick and more than a bit upsetting.

BirdMom wrote:No, I'm sorry, to be fair people got along fine without cell phones for about the first 30 to 35 years of Disneyland's operations. No one is indespensible. You can turn your phones off and check them every four hours at a time when you want to get away from the other guests, but come on. Disney parks are a place to GET AWAY from the outside world, your business included. If you feel that your business is so important that you can't detactch from the cell phone, then maybe you shouldn't go on vacation at all.

You're missing my point. If I didn't have my cellphone with me and on, WE WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO TAKE THE VACATION TIME OFF AT THE SAME TIME.

And yes, we are that indispensible. It's a small company personel wise, if there's a big problem and they can't get hold of us, we're pretty much shut down till they do. And if it involves one of our customers in particular and they're shut down because of it... Well, it costs them $36,000/hr when they're down.

dhc, where the F do you work???? I've heard Bill Gates loses money if he spots a $100.00 on the street, and stops to pick it up.I wanted to give june1st a hard time about being a slave to her job,but I was being polite. Just how important is someones life you can't have a little 'me' time?
Like Linus said,"And the world didn't come to the end".

Hmmm - you disregarded my point entirely.dhcalva wrote: And yes, we are that indispensible.
However, since you do claim to be *that* indispensable, my sympathies. Your undivided attention and presence will most likely be missed by those who can vacation undisturbed.
