You want a name tag & perfect spelling in one package? This really would be a YMD event! :D: There are 3 or 4 CMs on this site still waiting for new name tags. The bright side...you got your new name tag. Possibly the only backstage YMD perk you'll receive.

Well I think the newest thing is Disney Difference not backstage magic but they are giving us lowly poens free thanksgiving meal vouchers for those who work Thanksgiving day. This shows that we are still under the radar at least somewhat.

Exactly Polar!! This method would add much more magic, & make guests feel they are really special during YMD. The way you explained above was the method I had heard was originally the YMD approach. I have a feeling not many plans were put in concrete. After the 50th think tanks were drained. YMD sounded as great PR but boiled down to mass "how do we really handle all this?"

I don't know about "new." We were getting free Thanksgiving meal vouchers while I was there in the 80's and 90's. Did they get taken away? I'm pretty sure we got meal vouchers (along with our pins) on Christmas too (it's been awhile). We had the best boss on the West side - Rory O'Leary used to come around and shake everyones hand and personally thank you for working on a family holiday. He was a good guy.

I don't remember holiday meal vouchers in the last 6 yrs. Maybe I'm forgetful, though I never forget free food. Most stores' locations have great potlucks. :) Greetings always had tables laden with the best full course meals & special treats. Clothiers really goes all out for their CMs' holiday meals & other events. May even be better this yr. with our new East Manager! Have never been West during Thanksgiving but I hear none ever walk hungry. ]

At Knott's, they give employees a Thanksgiving meal, but I can't remember if we still had to pay for it or not. If we paid, the price was reduced. But as anyone who's worked at Knott's for any length of time can tell you, Knott's is infamous for having some of the scummiest sanitation in all its eating places on the planet.
Don't believe me? Go to http://www.kbfdrama.com, via either Yahoo or Excite, search for the thread "Horrible Health Dept. Inspections", and there's a link to the Health Dept. showing just how bad it is. Don't forget to read the postings everybody has on the subject. One person ate at the Chicken Dinner Restaurant, got food poisoning, and reported it. Knott's got a fine, which basically amounts to a slap on the wrist.
I also heard on kbfdrama there was a riot during Haunt. How that stayed out of the papers---oh, silly me, Knott's brass obviously did some bribing. Don't you just hate damage control?
If you get anything free from Knott's, it usually results in your camping out in the bathroom, taking antidiarrheals, or going to the doctor/ER.

Loose your lunch after finding the link. I checked out Disneyland and Knotts. I am staying home in my dirty kitchen, lol. Club 33 was caught with vermin and Disneyland Hotel Cast Cafeteria had evidence of vermin and lots of minor violations.

Not sure which is worse but then again my favorite restaurant probably is worse.

YMD has come my way!! Was passing Parkside Team Center Mon. so stopped in to ask abt buying my first name tag. CM looked at my DLR ID & asked; "Hometown?" Within 10 minutes I became legit & finally had my new FREE name tag. :) Should've gotten a clue & tried Parkside 4 weeks ago. Anna of Anaheim has now left M S. :D:

No, was feeling too normal. Didn't even think to screw with poor CM engraver's mind. My hometown is S A until you think of a really cool one no one is using. ]
