Re: Fastpass Woes
Welcome steve! You'll get used to it. One thing that helps me is to stand in front of the closed chain so they cannot mob me, if I have the chain down, I stand right in front of the line so that I have to step aside to let them in. I count the FPs, and tell them to keep them out. I always count the number of people in the group, and I always check the times, if they try to run by me, I use my best "teacher voice" and stop them. Works every time. Make sure you check every FP in the stack. It is not uncommon for people to have on good pass, and put it on top of a bunch of invalid ones to override it. With FP you do have to be firm and enforce the rules or they will walk all over you. That's not to say there aren't legitimate circumstances. If one or two out of the group is bad and it is obvious it is a function of the ticket being demagnetized (you can tell by the error message), I will typically add one or two to the other FPs. If on the other hand it is becaus they had a FP for another ride, too bad so sad.
The other thing that will help you is the FP language sheet. There should be one at every location with FP. If you have a guest that "doesn't speak english" you can show them the sheet. There's a blurb about it in English with bulleted points, as well as about 8 other languages. Locate the point you want on the English part then point to the corresponding bullet in their language. That solves many problems.

It could be worse. I've been banned from playing Disney trivia with my co-workers at the Park!LittleDollClaudia wrote:I know the feeling about playing the Disney trivia games. None of my family will play with me because I know 90% of the answers. ... But the fun is when you get that 2am call asking who was the villain in Sleeping Beauty? And what are the two names of the princess?
And while I've never gotten a 2am call, I did get one at 10:30pm on my day off from City Hall. They had a guest question they couldn't answer and everyone they asked said, "Call Zazu."
Oh yeah, I knew it. :lecture:

Not new, they had it back in 04. The one problem is that people use them and misplace them. If somebody doesn't notice that it is missing and report it, it will never get replaced. Talk to your managers about getting one in your area, it really is a lifesaver. In the meantime, if you have a guest trying to sneak by with an invalid pass who "doesn't speak English" one thing that youc an do to test if this is true is try talking to them and slip in the phrase, "you're shoes untied." If they look down, they're busted! I had a fellow CM who would do this, and he caught quite a few people pretending not speak English so that they could use invalid FPs.

I don't think you caught my sarcasm... But yeah, with Buzz, at first sight it actually looks like there is a line. They should not put him right there.Shorty82 wrote:A long line for CoP? Yeah, right. The ONLY long line I've seen at CoP is to meet Buzz Lightyear in front of it.

Yes. The same thing happens at Universal Studios, while I let gate A pass holders in. People in the standby line whistle at me and go "yoo-whoo?!" and do that what the hell gesture. I give them the one minute finger and say just a moment sir, you will be next. Then they make this long a** sigh. Whatever people, get real.
