Them gave me nightmares for years, so did the old movie The Fog, I didn't want to go out on a foggy day for years. It's just a good thing I've always lived in So Cal, not a whole lot of foggy days.
You know what else kids these days don't seem to know about (although not quite as old and classic as some of these already mentioned) The Princess Bride. It's one of the greatest movies ever made and it seems that very few people under the age of about 25 have even heard of it. What is this world coming to?

The Princess Bride is a great movie. I ran into Andre the Giant in the Chicago airport. He is HUGE. He had an aisle seat in first class and took up half of the aisle.

You'll be happy to know my 17 year old daughter LOVES The Princess Bride. And, alas, I believe Andre the Giant has passed.

He did. He may be remembered more for his role in The Princess Bride than for putting the smackdown on Hulk Hogan.

Agreed -- that film is greatness. One of my faves as well, and I've made sure both of my preteen kids have seen it. <pats self on back>
I'm smiling just thinking of some of the great lines from that one film:
"Inconceivable!"
"You seem a decent fellow. I hate to kill you."
"You seem a decent fellow. I hate to die."
"I wonder if he is using the same wind we are using."
"Is this a kissing book?"
"Good job, Westley, sleep well. I'll most likely kill you in the morning."
And of course the all-time classic, "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

We used to watch it all the time in the HISTA breakroom over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over.....
There has never been a time where I watch a movie in the breakroom from beginning to end, just bits and pieces! :D

I was just joking with a friend of mine that we wouldn't be surprised if that's my baby's first word. Yeah, okay so I watch the movie a bit. Actually listen to is more accurate, I put it on and then clean the living room or sew or something.

When the Alfred Hitchock attraction was open at USF, a few guests asked, "Who's Alfred Hitchcock?" The TM explained who he was. At the end, the TM said, "I can't believe you don't know who Alfred Hitchcock is!" I bet these guests think "White Chicks" is their "Citizen Kane!" I bet they haven't seen "Citizen Kane" either. ;)

pffft.
we all know Gigli is the new Citizen Kane.
But seriously... it is sad that kids today no nothing about film or literature.
I went to the bookstore to get a new copy of Dandelion Wine.
I had to tell the kid who Ray Bradbury was....
kid: "oh, i mostly just read comics..."
