Pet Peves:
:( CM's that ask if I am able to get out of my wheelchair and walk a little, but fail to mention that there are several steps(stairs) inside.
:( CM's who ask the above as I am going into the ride, but fail to mention that after the ride the the walk back from the exit and back thru half the queue is anything but short.
^^^The above is less of a problem as I become familiar with the queues, and think to ask if I don't remember^^^
:( Parents who, when they see me coming in my powerchair, shove their kids out into my path, and yell, "Hurry, and we can get on <insert ride here>." And then give me a dirty look or swear at me for nearly hitting them. Of course the fact that I can't just stop-dead, or that somehow I managed *not* to run them over, or that I was nearly thrown from my chair in the maneuver, never matters.
:( People behind me when the above happens, who scream at me when they run into me because they are looking everywhere *except* where they are going!
:( People with their nose in their map or guidebook or shopping bag, etc. who literally walk right into me when I am parked off to the side, and then while climbing back out of MY lap, have the balls to tell me to "Watch where the <bleep> you're going! You <bleeping> ran me over!" And then as they walk away: "They ought to stop letting people like that in here. It's dangerous." :notallthe I always want to say: "You are absolutely right -- Here's your sign!"
:( People who think it's OK to let their kids *stand* on my seatback, or even on the fence behind me, and kick my seat! Would they dream of sitting their child on a stranger's shoulders?! When I say something they usually reply, "well he's just little." Yes, maybe so, but being kicked even by little feet still HURTS! My "personal space" includes :wheelchai
:( Guests who complain that I'm saving seats at a counter service restaurant table, and when I tell them my family is getting the food, say to a CM, "Is she allowed to just *sit* there while her family goes to eat?" Hello :duh: ?? I *will* be eating, but why should I try to take my chair thru the crowded line and besides, my dh will just be carrying my tray anyway. Less trouble to wait at a table. Also, there's a high likelihood that I already had to wait quite a while before a table was available to get my chair pulled up to.
Things that make my day:
:) The Mickey and Minnie who took the time to stroll thru the ADA line at Space Mountain on their way on-stage and made that little girl in the wheelchair smile *so big* that I thought her head would POP! I was so happy for her, that I forgot to take pix of my own boys with M & M.

Of course, my ds's were much less impressed
:) The custodial CM who was sweeping along Main St. at closing, whistling "Zippidy-do-dah"
:) Clean bathrooms, with seemingly neverending rolls of TP and seatcovers and floors that always seem freshly mopped.
:) CM's who love (or *pretend* to love) Disney as much as I do! Even tho they are overworked and underpaid.
:) Imagineers who create handicapped-accessible queues so I can enjoy the theming and preshow along with everyone else. You miss a lot when you have to go in thru the exit
:) Matterhorn CM's who ask me if I want to go on the left or right side, instead of just waving me along to the right. (I know I can tell them, but the thoughtfulness is nice)
:) CM's who don't look like they wish they had seen you coming in time to hide. And know that :wheelchai doesn't always mean PITA. :p: ;) Some of us would trade a lifetime supply of GAC's to be healthy and pain-free again.
Oh my, this turned into a very long first post. I guess I'll just say TTFN.
