Let's see.hobie16 wrote:Here's a deal for ya.
The difference between an adult and child ticket varies from $6 for one day up to $19 for four or more days.
And they are giving a discount of $100, $200, or $300 from full rack rate on the room while requiring two adults traveling together.
Does not look like a good deal to me.

Re: Non Florida Residents using Florida Resident Tickets
I remember a day last summer when a family came to my window with a reservation for Play-4 tickets with hopping and WPF&M. I asked for Florida ID and the older woman showed me her license. So I activated the reservation. As normal, the printer did Exchange Certificates and not live tickets, as demographic data still had to be entered.
I asked the woman if everyone had the same address as hers, and she said yes. I then asked for the names and dates of birth of each Guest as I needed the demographic data. Once she was done I asked for the photo IDs of all the people 18 or older. They all had Texas Driver's Licenses.
At that point I told them that the difference in price for each ticket was about $120 as they were not eligible for Resident tickets. I was backed up by my coordinator as well as the manager. At the end, the manager threatened to call Security unless the woman calmed down. And, of course, we would not do any refund.

1) I am FROM Florida. I do not live there now. My "HOME park" is WDW in Florida.Cheshire Figment wrote:Your info says you are in Florida. If the statement I am quoting is true and correct, what are you doing on the Board or Forum?
2) Even if I still lived in FL, and only been to Disney once in my entire life, what does that have to do with me being on this forum? Is there something in the rules I missed that said I have to go to Disney X number a times to join this board? There are people that have lived in Florida their whole life and never been to Disney.

Re: Non Florida Residents using Florida Resident Tickets
Okay folks, time to calm down and remember the rules here. Specifically:
Discussions of how to violate Company policy or State law are not permitted. Recommending that non-Florida residents purchase Florida-discount tickets is a violation of this rule; please stop.
Insulting other members of the board is also not permitted. While there's a broad range from, "I'm going to find out where you live and kill you!" down to, "You're a stupid poopy-head," (and yes, we've heard both here), it's not polite and it's not permitted.
I haven't yet given any infractions, though I have required a few of you to read the rules again. Please start playing nice or we will close this thread.
Sincerely,
Zazu, Admin

All right, I'm usually a lurker here, but discussions like this raise my ire. :-)
If you think Disney is such a rip-off, why do you go there? (Not specific to any one person, but any of those that claim it's not worth the price?)
Complain about Disney all you want. Go to *ANY* captured venue, and take a look at the prices. (And by any captured venue, I mean anyplace where you can't go somewhere else for food or souvenirs. (And sometimes lodging.))
Go out West to the National Parks. Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Bryce, Grand Canyon, Olympic, Glacier, Yosemite, Glen Canyon... Any of the parks that are in isolated places. Look at the prices they charge for food and souvenirs.
I once did the comparison in prices to one of my West vacations and a Disney vacation. The price differential was in terms of dollars. Like $25 or so.
(And yes, I have been to all those places, and a lot more. See my web site.)
We could also talk about Sports events. Been to a professional level ballgame lately? Heh.

And even if that is true, when you consider the ideas of supply and demand, as discussed earlier in this thread, you would be faced with many more days where the parks are closed due to reaching capacity.Mr. D. wrote:I didn't say they could only break even. I said even at $50 admission they would make a LARGE profit. And I am a season pass holder for Six Flags. they are a nice park. They entertain people for a reasonable price.
As a student, geek, and one who fits the soda drinking demographic in other ways, I can assure you that NemoRanger is referring to canned soda. I think the "evil empire" that NemoRanger and I do not go to sell canned sodas for $1.00 out of their vending machines, but not having been there recently, I cannot be sure. Bottled soda from a typical vending machine is $1.65-$2.00. There are vending machines that sell both. Shall I take a picture for you?Have you ever been out of your house? Try actually looking at the price on a vending machine before you just go sticking money into it. A machine with can sodas (if you can find one) is about $.50 - $.75.NemoRanger wrote:This is a JOKE! I have never seen a vending machine charge .50 to .75 for Coca Cola. Everywhere I go its 1.25 if not more.Mr. D. wrote:Yes $1.25 for a 12oz can of soda is over charge. Vending machines charge you $.50-$.75 for a 12oz can. And if you don't mind the generic, you can get a Sam's choice for $.25
I do not go to sam club or wal mart they are evil empire.
$1.25 are for BOTTLED sodas. I have specifically said CAN sodas because that is what they were selling at the circus and that is what I was comparing prices to.
At the Disneyland Resort, the Mickey and Friends Tram has a recorded message that says "If you have brought your own food and beverage, please use the picnic area." Enforcement of the rules regarding outside food has varied considerably over the years.I have seen people told several times they can not bring food into the parks.
I believe it, but do not believe it was recent, especially given what people have said here.YES our orange cheese/peanut butter crackers were taken and trashed. I really don't care if you believe it or not.
What more is there to the story? You want exact details? Ok. here ya go. We got to the park around opening. We stood in bag check line for about 4-5 mins. The security officer opened our bags and pulled the crackers out and handed them to an officer standing next to him (I am assuming a manager or trainee) who took them and walked toward the building. I asked the officer "Why did you take those?" He said "No outside food allowed in the parks" We got our bags. I griped to my party about it. we went into the parks and had our day.
Yes. For you, and others, to follow the rules and obey Cast Member instructions when you are visiting the Disney Resorts.Anything else you want?

In this instance you should let Mr. D run Zazu. Think of all the G2 you'll gather on scammers.Zazu wrote:Discussions of how to violate Company policy or State law are not permitted. Recommending that non-Florida residents purchase Florida-discount tickets is a violation of this rule; please stop.

Sure and when I am in town again I will take pics of all the $.25 CANNED soda machines, and the $.50-$.75 machines as well right along side the $1.25+ BOTTLED machines.Alyssa3467 wrote:As a student, geek, and one who fits the soda drinking demographic in other ways, I can assure you that NemoRanger is referring to canned soda.
