Sounds to me more like a way to keep down labour costs, by reducing the number of shifts you can pick up on The Hub.
It doesn't make any sense. And it wasn't just PAC shifts that were changed. Wristband shifts, attraction host/hostess shifts (all stuff that previously had no training-requirement) now all require you to be attraction trained. It stinks! :(

It's crazy about the shifts. I don't see how being attractions trained vs. merchandise or other LOB trained helps somebody work PAC or wristbands.

About 3:15 this afternoon I was riding the cast shuttle to the tunnel so I can put the stocker costume I picked up in my locker. On the way we stop to pick up some people from the Toontown stop. Among a whole lot of characters' best friends was Mickey. Not Mickey's friend, Mickey. It was interesting as while you see a lot of best friends backstage the characters themselves don't hang out back there to often.

You wouldn't want all those highly trained attractions CMs being contaminated by forced close contact with the lowly Merch CMs, now would you? The funny thing is the higher tier of mangers (who come up with such silly ideas) really do think that way.

Have you seen the badshoes.com website? Someone started taking pictures of the inappropriate footwear some people (mostly women) wear to WDW, and posted the pictures on his website. Anyone can submit pictures to be added. They even give advice on the website on how to get a picture of someone's feet without them realizing it. ;)

badshoe.com is the web address, no s at the end of shoe. Looks like an interesting site.

Seen it, this would probably be more controversial since one would most likely get the persons face in the shot. I'm still debating it though :)

It's pretty fun in the morning when a whole slew of them board the bus to head to Toontown to get on the train for the welcome show.

One of my favorite moments was when on our way out in the evening, Goofy, Donald and Pluto were all standing in the bus shelter (the opposite direction) trying to thumb a ride back to the tunnel. The driver made a comment about picking up weirdos at the side of the road. LOL!

I remember back during mnsshp, catching the bus back from Toontown (I was on the Treat Trail). The Queen of Heart's dress took up an entire row of seats, and it was hysterical seeing her try to get out of the bus.

Last night the problem of only allowing attractions trained CMs to work PAC reared it's ugly head. I was working in Expo Hall when this lady came in shortly before the first Spectromagic and complained to me and another CM with me about how there were no walkways outside like there is supposed to be. According to her she saw only one person working PAC in the area. I told her there wasn't a lot we could do as that wasn't our area and that she should complain to City Hall.

I hope she did complain. Sounds like they can't even get enough people to work PAC with the training restrictions they have on it now. I wasn't able to look out as I was on my way to bump somebody at the Photopass registers when she came in but it sounds like it was even more of a zoo than normal. Maybe if enough guests complain then the restriction will be dropped and more CMs can pick up extra hours with PAC.
