ROTFL my guess is that was not even a Centurion card she had but any number of other black credit cards. The person working the register would note its heavy metal not plastic.

Actually I suspect that the "rich=rude" folks are more likely to be wannabe rich and thus will take any opportunity to "impress" those around them by loudly stating their (alleged) financial status.

Personally I am more impressed by the former than the later.

Absolutely! Big and generous of heart= Good person. It does not matter whether thay have a fat wallet or big bank acount. Some good people do, some good people don't. It is NEVER the size of your bank account that determines WHO you are as a person. It is your heart and the upbringing of your parents. I adore my parents for bringing me up in a blue collar world with a very important lesson that I live by today and will always. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
My brother and I both have been financially fortunate, but THAT does not change who we are inside and it should not. Unfortunately, there are those who have bastardized my favorite saying to: Do unto others BEFORE they do unto you! These are the SGs and the jags we have to watch out for. I take it as my personal challenge to try to undo their beliefs sometimes when they are acting all high and mighty to others. They treat others as their servants or worse, their slaves and it is just these people I like to inject myself into the situation and play Politeness Police. :D:
Does not always work, but it makes them look like assholes in front of everyone else and they know it. Maybe, just maybe it will change one of them sometime...We can only hope...
I live in one of those neighborhoods where there are alot of noveau riche people. They bring out all their toys on the weekend, like their crotch rockets and rev them up at 7 and 8 AM on Saturday and Sunday morning. I just want to go down there and yank their stopcock! Then the ones who drive around in the PINK...I AM NOT KIDDING!!!!!! Hummers. There are two and neither of the owners are Mary Kay salespeople. They just have bad taste, That is a buttuglymobile! Pink Hummers all over the place! :barf: :bbbat: Get some taste people. Having money does not mean you can blind the rest of us or make us nauseous with your bad taste. I HATE this neighborhood. I will be so happy to leave it. I may even throw a party for Ralph and I, no one else since I don't want them to park that pink Hummer in my driveway! :hysteria:
We won't even attend the **Home Owners Assoc. Summer picnic out in Prairie Dog town. We have a field with (a goose dropping covered shoreline) lake and hundreds of rodents known as Prairie Dogs all over the place and that is where they have their picnic. I am sorry, but I do not want to risk catching the plague from the prairie dogs as cute as they are. They are one of the sentry groups of animals for plague detection in Colorado. Course these nouveau riche people don't know about such things and go about setting up their picnic out there. I am sorry, but there is no way I am tracking in the fleas that jump off the Prairie Dogs into my house to land on my cats! NOT. GONNA. HAPPEN. Fools keep having their picnic there every Summer. Now NOT all Prairie Dog colonies have plague, but IF it going to show up in an area, the Prairie Dog Colony is the first place it will show up. And you will know by the dead Prairie dogs lying around. These are the same fool people who ALLOW their dogs to chase the Prairie dogs around. Idiots! I NEED to move away! They all probably think I am snotty and stuck up cause I NEVER leave the house. Why bother? There is nothing in this neighborhood that interests me. I have one lady I talk to and she has a slight learning disability and she is the one everyone else makes fun of. That is how it is. She is very nice, interesting and from Spain and I like her. She is hard to understand sometimes, but that's okay, so am I! :D: I just hate that everyone else treats her like an outcast! It sucks to see the attitude! Morons live here!

Then there's this one guy, hired the company of which my father is the president for some of his business affairs. He'll call my dad and ask him to have $X million transferred between a couple accounts just to remind my dad he has money. No need to do so, my dad sees his bank records all the time. But he feels the need to do it to feel superior.

I'm trying to think of a word I can call him that doesn't include obscenities. Nope, can't think of one. So I'll take guesses as to what I am thinking of that I want to call him.
Jack ass? Moron? Nit wit? Brainless wonder? Those are all clean and they do fit. Stupid MF would also fit!
SHOW OFF would be the best!

She walks up to the Pasta counter, orders one of everything, comes over to me at Kids' Meals, interuppts the guest who I'm already helping, demands a Kids Spaghetti, and while I'm preparing it, complains that if she doesn't get it in 5 seconds, she's going to need to have all her other dishes thrown out and replaced.

I finally give her her food, and she goes storming off mumbling "I pay too much for this c***. I shouldn't have to wait..." (not exactly those words, but really close).

And she apparently waved her Black AmEx Card (that really exclusive one that only the really wealthy get) at the cashier and demanded of all things, a discount!

UGH! :badmood: :asshole:

Sorry to interrupt, but those kinds of people just really get me peeved.
You actually got the thread back on track! YAY for you! :D:

Now here is the perfect example of one that I could not resist getting into. I cannot help myself. It is in my genes. I HAVE to say something or my head will explode. I cannot in good conscience walk away from someone like that who is treating everyone as if they are there to wait on JUST her. I would have to intervene with some remark about how EVERYONE HAS to wait their turn and if she pulled some crap and said shit to me, I would very loudly tell her to SHADDAP!!!!!!! And probably a few choice other things. But that's just me.

I would NEVER inject myself into a fistfight or a violent encounter. That is what cell phones and Security are for. I may be outraged, but I am not foolish. At least, I like to think I am not foolish! :D:
sues :p:

You should have "RUN" the card through the reader wrong, then pretended to look at the screen and say in a loud voice "this is invalid!!! IS this YOUR card??" then ask to see I.D.!! Then once she is done melting down, run it correctly and say, "oh, guess its working now, have a nice day!!"

(hehehehehe)

Ive heard of CMs doing this before. Run the card, hit cancel. Look concerned. Run the card again. Hit cancel and again look concerned. Do this a few times (maybe throw in a manual entry of the number for fun) until they ask what is wrong. Then say that the card is declining for you. Watch them squirm and tell you how it is impossible that it is declined. Tell them it is and then they get pissed and give you cash.

Not that I have done that yet. I've been tempted to do the run the card and cancel on them a few times to get them all impatient and such. But I have not.

My Hubby and I went to MK with his boss, (we were all good friends before the company got big) and all he did was look at everything and say "well how much is that going to cost" or "I bet that's super expensive." We told him what to expect and if he didn't want to come with he could just stay at the hotel and work on work. But he insisted on "taking a day off" and "have some fun" By the end of the day, not even close to closing time, we're leaving and I had half a mind to tell him how much his penny pinchin butt ruined my day. And the biggest pain about it was he can totally afford anything at the park, he just didn't see why he should pay x amount for something that didn't mean that much to someone like him.

Hope he never comes back. You can keep on returning, you're welcome here, as it sounds like you know how to have fun. But keep him away. I don't want to deal with him.
