I remember a time in the early 70's when I was on a boat tour of the Soo Locks on an overcast day, and there were several people on the boat taking flash pictures with their Instamatics; which at the time used flash cubes which were not cheap.

But even more fun were the people at the night program at Mount Rushmore, where you are actually at the base of the mountain and about 1,500 feet from the faces. They would show a movie about the construction and then light up the faces with spotlights. I had my Nikon on a heavy duty tripod with a large lens and taking pictures with exposures of 1/2 second or longer whaile again, there were people with Instamatics taking flash pictures.

A lot of people take weird pics. I saw a lady taking pictures of trash cans. Then I saw a person taking pictures of fireworks with their flash on. I always love the people who take pictures on rides that have a on-ride photo. Then they are in a photo stalemate!

I bought DW a new Sony cmera for her birthday. she has been into photography since her college days, and used to shoot with the 3x5 format and other stuff. I have used cameras extensively from aircraft shots, to ground, to shootling laser light through filters, and so forth. The sony digital has a "low light" and night time setting, with no flash. (flash photos are a pet peeve of mine) We actualy got shots, quite good, of Illuminations fireworks. An SG couple standing next to us had a Nikon with a strobe flash. (It was obvious to both of us, they didn't know how to use their toy) Their shots came out like crap! (hehehe) We also took a night movie of the music and light show in the lagoon, which came out o.k., but I forgot my minipod!

Actually, we should use FP's for The Land extensively. Great way to shut someone up without actually giving them anything of any use! "Hey, lookie! I got a FastPass!" Heck, you could make it useable all week and it still wouldn't actually mean anything!

It still kills me that they got rid of the spielers on that. It's kinda like Innoventions... Everything there could be automated, but it's better with people doing it. I see the Segway experience as a perfect blend. There is an impressive video to watch, but you also have a person doing the teaching.

The other night, we went to Candlelight Processional, and I have to say, all the people taking flash pictures of Kirk Cameron made it a painful experience at times. I mean, really. Yeah, that's a great shot of the head of the guy in front of you.

Of course, the lighting wasn't all that great in that show. I could have done much better given the same equipment. Often, it wasn't bright enough. All the lighting transitions were noticeable, and didn't follow the feel of the music at all. It's an awesome show, but the show tech could be done much better.

You would think with the instant feedback of a digital camera, they would figure out that IT DOSNT WORK over 9 to 12 feet...DUHHHH!

Very true. Actually I still don't understand why they are on the dream fastpasses. LOL, I know I don't dream of a Land fastpass. I gave her one of the test track re-entry passes that are good at HISTA, The Land, MS, Test Track, or Maelstrom. Basically anything except Soarin'. I see a lot of those on days when Test Track is 101.

Don't laugh too loudly. I used to be the webmaster for a site called "Trash Cans of the World".

Still got most of the photos, too!

Of course, that was back in the day when each land had it's own can design....

And don't forget the "restrooms of the World" site that had photos of the interiors of all the restrooms and discussion forums about which were best and which were themed correctly, etc.

And I have now heard of a site that specializes in all the crates and boxes used in the parks. With deep discussions about the hidden meanings behind the various stenciled messages and destination addresses. I particularly like the crates in the JC cue with "ship to" lables addressed to the Adventurers Club.
