All done in the movie so heavily because they would never get to do it in real life :D:

Now if only we had a gift shop on the walkways from the loadzones.Guests need to walk thru them to get on and off the bus. It will have bus pins, monorail refridgerator magnets, etc. Maybe we can sell MiM's systems there too!

I wouldn't mind buying a few bus pins. I work for a public transit system so I like collecting bus memorabilia. The monorail items would appeal to me since I've loved the monorail from childhood.

The only reason I'd buy a MiM's is so I could run over it with a bus. Disney is really doing itself a disservice by taking away the spiel from the driver. I hope it doesn't last long.

I'll be the first to donate it from all my buses... but keep the tracking system... just get rid of the music and all that.

With the automated spiels, it is perfect for a transit (outside Disney) system, but don't put music in.

As far as MiMs goes, I have decided to stop fighting it, since the more I dig, the more I find that what I believe about the involvement of certain groups pushing for the MiMs to take over the spiels. Problem is, not enough people will complain about it the first time, and by the next time many who would complain return, it will be ensconsed on the buses such that it is a permanent fixture and people will be used to it, just as it's only taken a few months for people to get to the point where they don't expect anything out of their driver anyway and are surprised when a driver like me gives them more than a look as they board the bus. I decided when I came up with my theory that it will be impossible for me to fight it, since most drivers are either on the opposite side of the issue from me or apathetic to the idea of spieling themselves. The only hope now is the guests.

We could always hope that with several SGs carrying MiMs into a bus the multiple units would interfere with eachother and cause the bus MiM to stop working. Of course this would mean that the drivers would HAVE to speil. Right? :D:

BTW this is my first post. I'll probably post an introductory post soon.

Sometimes, It's these things that make you love your job.

I worked Epcot Sunday night. Now Epcot is not my first choice of hubs to work but it is better than others. I have come up with some modifications to my spiel which tie in with the Haunted Mansion renovations and have additional lines when I have standees.

About 10:00pm I had a run to Port Orleans. I packed the bus full, very full. I then started with my stuff as we were leaving Epcot as again MiM's was only partially working. Now It's a short ride to PO so I was trying to get everything in. I did but then had to start right away with the exit spiel. When I got to the forst stop at French Quarter, the whole bus starts with the cheers and applause.

I have a lot of guests come up to me and thank me for my act but to have the whole bus cheering, well, BW knows about that but I just don't get that type of response frequently. I can count on one hand how many times that has happened to me. (and most of them were on the day that I started this post)

Again, it's things like this that keeps me coming back to work at Disney. In fact, one of the guests came up to me and asked how long I had been with Disney and was stunned that I said only 9 months. His comment was that I was like the drivers of old and how it was still that way.

I wouldn't say it's frequent, per se... but it is more often as a direct result of the computer system and the drivers who like using it.
