Last week, I went in with friends with whom one of them didn't scan in properly at Epcot, and so when we used one of their tickets in the FP machines, it would spit it back out with a slip saying the ticket hadn't been used for entry that day. At Test Track, the FP CM gave us an expired one to use with our real FPs saying they would let us on with an expired FP. No one even asked us about it. While it was nice that one time, I still wonder at that, because it's really nice to know that when you're going into the FP line it's not going to be clogged with a bunch of people from earlier who were just too lazy to be on time.

What they should have done for your friend is give them a Fast Pass Key Card (I'm pretty sure that EPCOT has them as well I know MK does). I personally hate it when guests come up to me at distribution and get the "not used today- see a Cast Member" error and say (beleivably) that they've been having this problem all day and theyve just been getting overrides or expired FPs. Makes every other CM at a FP distribution location have to do more work and take time away from the other guest's FP issues. The only time I wont give a key card is if the guests is asking suspiciously or obviously just trying to get an extra FP.

Well with the second time on the FP (the end of your return window) we don't really care about quite as much. This is just because most of the time if someone is coming up for an expired FP, from the same day of course, its because they had something happen like a child get sick or problems with lunch reservations never stuff we really want to bring back up. Not really enough people coming back late to cause us problems, its the people that try and come in early that clog the line up bad. Although for tickets not working in the machines just like bpgstudios you should have gotten a keycard...my only guess would be they were out of them or something.

What if you had a CM friend give you a FP that was like 2 months old, and he told you to just tell the person at the FP entrance it was okay? ;)

Really don't get that very often but I will admit I have let CMs from the attraction on their day off threw with fastpasses that were not valid . Its not the right thing the wrong thing to do but didn't think it was worth causing problems between me and my coworkers. :o:

I hope I didn't cause you any problems for your coworkers. ;) :)

We weren't expecting FPs. We were just planning to make sure we rode your bus.

I'll use old FPs as a quick guest service recovery tool since NSA's are virtually non-existant in my area. I will just write an "OK" and sign my first name on them. Usually that eliminates any problems. We have a lot of CMs that will just run up- on their day off- the exit and hop on. Catches me off guard especially if I don't know who it is. THAT IMO isn't OK.

No, sir. On our days off, in my mind, we are not Cast Members, unless it's an issue like the day I was the only CM in view when a child lost his balloon, and I helped take care of the situation. However, this is a rare case for me, because I am too busy watching out for my own interests against the ravenous guests. It's amazing what you'll see in the parks as a CM on your day off...
