Hawaii is getting hit with some amazing weather. I saw some pictures of Jaws taken yesterday. One wave had a little dot on the top that turned out to be a tow-in surfer. The big wave guys are going crazy.WEDFan wrote:So, Hobie, are you heading to the beach to watch the 50' swell?
Sounds like there's some pretty spectacular happenings on the coast.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

My Family and I had a wonderful time as well.
Always Great to visit with you and enjoy a little food and Disneyland! You MUST bring Mrs. Hobie next time as I am sure she will enjoy the chance to peruse the shops herself
As well as the Park and restaurants.....I am sure she has some fun stories too!

Just got a call from my niece who lives in Atlanta. Being an Arizona kid she's pretty proud of herself for getting through the snow nightmare yesterday and only having to abandon her car a mile from home because it was all up hill.

Which is what we're saying here inhobie16 wrote:Lucky we live Maui.

For reference, that is up near Whazzup near the Alabama border a few days ago for anyone who actually didn't see it.

I call that section Alaborida. Every few years I wind up on I-10 East to I-65 North. I-65 misses Florida by thismuch and I usually drop down for the Welcome to Florida sign photo op with whatever Mustang I'm driving that trip.
Hobie is everyone treating those monster waves with the respect they need or has some dumb haole almost killed a rescue team?

I haven't heard of any problems. From what I hear from friends who surf, the lineup pretty much polices itself. Rookies are found out pretty fast and usually driven to the beach.Near Philly wrote:Hobie is everyone treating those monster waves with the respect they need or has some dumb haole almost killed a rescue team?

Re: Adventures In Fruity Drink Land
We picked up my boat this morning. Got boat, gotta go out.
The first thing we came upon was a bunch of Maui Pirates that had brought a tour boat to a dead stop.

That's a baby sticking his/her head out of the water below the second fender. Turned out a mamma, the baby and two escorts were rubbing up against the hull. When that happens you just gotta sit there until they move on.

This guy is trying to high fluke the boat.

I dares ya to hit me.
Buubye.
