That means they have no extra capital to make improvements, or give raises, or build a new land, or park, or ride, or restaurant, or shop. The list goes on and on. You want to know what Disney would be without their huge profits? Go visit a Six Flags park.
I didn't say they could only break even. I said even at $50 admission they would make a LARGE profit. And I am a season pass holder for Six Flags. they are a nice park. They entertain people for a reasonable price.
ktulu wrote:Oh, just out of curiousity, do you drink bottled water?
No I am not a bottled water drinker. I mean I will drink it if were are out and I need to buy a bottle to have with me. but I do no snub my nose at tap water. In fact I prefer it over bottled water.
just out of curiosity, what does that have to do with anything?
Goofyernmost wrote:Sorry, but these statements are so blatantly incorrect it makes me wonder if you have ever actually been to a Disney Park or if you are just sitting at a computer making this stuff up. I'm starting to suspect the latter!
Have you ever been out of your house? Try actually looking at the price on a vending machine before you just go sticking money into it. A machine with can sodas (if you can find one) is about $.50 - $.75.
I have seen people told several times they can not bring food into the parks.
YES our orange cheese/peanut butter crackers were taken and trashed. I really don't care if you believe it or not.
What more is there to the story? You want exact details? Ok. here ya go. We got to the park around opening. We stood in bag check line for about 4-5 mins. The security officer opened our bags and pulled the crackers out and handed them to an officer standing next to him (I am assuming a manager or trainee) who took them and walked toward the building. I asked the officer "Why did you take those?" He said "No outside food allowed in the parks" We got our bags. I griped to my party about it. we went into the parks and had our day. Anything else you want?
NemoRanger wrote:This is a JOKE! I have never seen a vending machine charge .50 to .75 for Coca Cola. Everywhere I go its 1.25 if not more.
I do not go to sam club or wal mart they are evil empire.
$1.25 are for BOTTLED sodas. I have specifically said CAN sodas because that is what they were selling at the circus and that is what I was comparing prices to.
DonutGoddess wrote:I can get a soda out of one of the Employee only soda machines at work for $.50, but it ain't no theme park :P
I also did NOT say vending machines at a theme park.
Now since it is apparent that none of you are reading what I am posting (as evident from all the above replies) then it is pointless for me to continue any more.

$50 is not going to build a billion dollar expansion. Six Flags also is plagued with many maintainence issues, staff that doesn't care, and oh, they had that whole issue with losing a ton of money and had to close a park (Houston), then sold out. Six Flags does not get near the entertainment level of Disney. They do not design their own rides, they buy off the "shelf" and then attempt to theme it. Disney has a whole division dedicated to design and research. That costs money, and they have to recoup the costs. You're not going to do that on a $50 admission. Disney knows where they need to price the tickets to plan for the future, and given the crowds during a recession, the price is perfect!

Clear some people create their own ideas of what is right and what is wrong. They are all about picking and choosing what they feel is right to do.
Its bad to lie, cheat and steal. UNLESS you feel it cost to much. I think its ridiculous to charge 3.99 for a pack of hot dogs. Oscar Meyer makes Fart to much money. I feel that if they charge 1.99 they would make more then enough profit. Therefore I will stick the pack hot dogs in my pants and casually leave 1.99 what I feel the rate should be at the cashier.
I am also going to start paying a 1.00 a gallon on gas. So I will now fill up my 12 gallon gas tank and only leave 12.00 with the cashier. The oil companies will still make more then enough money. So that is OK
This makes perfect sense. We need to start spreading this logic around.

In today's market. I would consider $50/person/park/day fair admission.
And if you take the time to visit the official website, you will see that a 10 day no-expire ticket (adult) is $549.54 - which is only $54.95 a day !
So how do you get this deal ? VOLUME! buying more than one day at a time saves you mega bucks !
And if you plan to visit for say 7 days (within a 14 day period) ...its only 284.36 for a 7 day ticket, only 40.62 per day. This is well below your desired price point ! Go to the park 10 out of those 14 days and it is only $30.99 per day !!!
Just like buying at Costco or Sams club, you save money by buying in Volume !
Buy a multi day ticket and you win by saving money plus the evil corporation wins by knowing that you will be back to enjoy the parks and probably spend on other things !
And I have taken snack food into the parks many times for my daughter in the last 5 years. Drinks too, even PEPSI ! people every day bring in tons of food for their own families. I have been stuck behind them in line at bag check while the cooler bags get checked !

Heck...I just bought a 10 day, park hopper, non expirational ticket for $608.00. That works out to 60.80 per day...pretty good deal I think. I get that discount because they know I will, over time, spend at least 10 days in a park, perhaps buying a 10.00 cheeseburger, a $2.50 cup of Ice Tea, a Mickey Bar or two, might get a Dole Whip Float, gosh, I might even by a souvenir (highly doubtful though). So I guess they aren't as greedy as they are made out to be. Oh, yea...I'll be paying $14.00 to park my car as well.
I didn't really have to do all that though. I could bring a PB&J sandwich (believe me they will let me in with it), drink water out of the fountain and skip the Mickey Bar and Dole Whip. What the heck I can do all those other things in my next life, assuming I'm born in a place where I can accumulate enough wealth to go.

This ENTIRE post is retarded. You are comparing actually shoplifting to finding a loop hole to get a discount on tickets? Show your mind set. There for it would be a waste of my time to converse with you any further.

So they FORCE you to buy admission for days you may not need to get a lower price. That makes perfect sense. I want a 4 day vacation to WDW, but to get the great deal of $54.95/day I have to pay for 10 days. Still equals greed.

Ok, so flat out LYING is perfectly ok as long as you have something to gain for it. That makes perfect sense.
You are LYING when you claim to live in Florida because you want to save a few bucks because you feel they are wrong to charge what they have every right to charge well that is perfectly fine. `You are delusional and pathetic. If you have a problem with the price you do not need to pay it. Disney is doing NOTHING wrong.

So what if person A and his family living in any state other then FL, had a friend who lived in FL. Said friend buys 3 adult tickets and 3 children tickets. Person A and his family travel to FL to visit friend and they all go to Disney. There. problem solved. NO ONE lied, NO ONE cheated, NO ONE stole anything. The person buying the tickets legitimately is a FL resident. They bought the tickets. They are free to use them how they wish, and if they decide to give them to out of state friends. then so be it.
YAY!!! Everyone is happy.

If you honestly believe that, then you are the one that is delusional and pathetic.
