Actually, the California new rail start was approved. They're building it with money Florida turned down.

Of course, there's a reason the California line wasn't the Feds' first choice: It will connect Fresno with Bakersfield!

No, I am *not* making this up!

What's next, a line to connect Porterville with Atascadero?

Might need some upgrades for high-speed service though. Some of that line was limited to 15mph last time I ran trains over it.
That's actually what's being talked about. The problem is trying to convince the big wigs that it is a good idea and will bring in money.

The benefits for access to both air ports alone would be worth it. :)

All this talk about the Chattanooga Choo Choo, kind of reminded me of a story of how one time Roy Rogers was riding out in the prairie with his sidekick Pat. The came around a big rock and a mountain lion jumped on Roy, knocked him off his horse, tore off his brand new boots and ran off into the tall grass.

Roy and Pat made there way back to the ranch and a few days later they were once again out on the range when Pat caught sight of the offending Lion. He quickly looked over and said.....

Pardon me Roy, Is that the cat that ate your new shoes?

True. It would allow the Chattanooga Airport to close once and for all.

For those who haven't been, it's a 10-gate wonder, as in, "I wonder why they built three times as many gates as they will ever need?"

Plus such a rail link won't change the worst joke about Chattanooga: You can't even go to hell without a transfer in Atlanta!

I love that pun. I laugh every time I hear it.

And to be fair, that is on both sides of the aisle, Executive and Judiciary. They're all so full of that stuff they give that the eyes of anyone who listens to them for more than five minutes turn brown.

Can you tell I am fed up with everyone in government? Every single movement. Democrat, Republican, Tea, Green... and all the rest!

Okay, okay. I'm sorry. No, wait. I need to rephrase that. I would like to apologize for not being sorry.

Crescent City to Weed. Yreka to Redding. Oroville to Fort Bragg. They definitely need those.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

I understand that my granddad on my mom's side used to say "whether you go to Heaven or Hell you stop in Atlanta."

I always thought it was O'Hare.
