One of those names was mine.... And I messaged him back on Facebook wishing him a safe trip home...

Now we wait, to see the Pictures!!! YAY!

One thing another guest showed me, was on his camera, - the Winning group that snatched the victory from The Vocal Majority- with Stunning moves, and Costume Changes whilst performing a (Silent due to no speakers on the camera) Seventy Six Trombones....

That reminds me of when my high school band and choir did Music Man,of course the choir got the lions share of the show. All of us in the band were only in the finale. :(
The funny part,is that a local radio station ran an ad for the show 2dys 'after' is was over.

Welcome home, Wombat! Glad you made it safe and sound.

Thanks to ktulu for providing the daily/hourly/minute-by-minute updates.

Okay, let's hope Wombat is busy getting pictures ready for posting.

HI SGT GANG!!! Wow, I can't believe this thread... I'm torn between being honored and humbled that you followed along the ups and one big down of my little adventure, and concerned that you all don't have better things to do with your lives! :)

Seriously, it's great that you all kept up with what my family and I did during our time in California! Now I don't have to write a trip report... Okay, I still will, because there were some amazing experiences and many pictures to share.

The barbershop convention was a blast, the contest was amazing, and I was privileged to be part of the best Vocal Majority performance ever. It's a bummer that a higher-scoring performance came along that evening, but hey, I got to witness that performance, and it was incredible. And it helps that the winning chorus, the Ambassadors of Harmony, are a great group of guys. (Several of them sincerely told us that their win was bittersweet because of how much they idolize the VM!)

What a thrill to meet Purpura in person! Sorry we didn't have a longer break, and especially sorry we didn't connect later in DL so I could see you "in your native environment." :D: Hope you told CBeilby what he missed out on!

Thanks also to the anonymous benefactor who got our group into Club 33. It was everything we hoped for and more, and I have the hat (and new avatar!) to prove it! :D:

Okay, now I have to begin the work of writing and posting a trip report, uploading pictures, and reading through the hundreds of non-Wombat-related threads you guys posted here since I left!

It's good to be home.
