oy, I've been getting a lot of more requests for the front cab "because it's my birthday". Now there's nothing wrong with that until:
1) I say that "the next one available will be 3-5 minutes away". Apparently, people don't want to wait 5 minutes for the opportunity. (understandable if they have a meal reservation waiting or other engagments)
2) Guests demanded that they get to "cut in line" to be next to get on the front because of "whatever occasion".
3) People just walk up and don't ask and force their way to the front (believe me, this annoys me more because I have "spontaneous magical moments" when the cab is empty and I offer it to a party).

Oh, so that is why everyone is all pissed off at me when I ask if they registered online... The way they react sometimes makes me want to just throw their ID back at them and say sorry, online registration was MANDATORY.
I mean, common, its a simple yes or no question. You can also go a little into "I tried, but I don't think it worked" or "I called and they said come here", but the tirades some people go off into just irks me. And that doesn't even answer the question.
And I wanna know who caved and decided to let APs and PHOTO COPIES of Birth Certificates count as "Proof of Date of Birth".

well, my birth certificate is rather large, and I would not want to have to drag it to an amusement park. then once I show it, what do I do with it? FOLD it up? not gonna happen, as it has delicate seals/ribbons. its a LOT easier to make a copy, and keep the issued one safe at home. Then when I get back from the parks, I can just shred the copy.
And if it matches my other I.D.'s it should be enough.
its not like I am getting on an aircraft....Hmmmm?

I've never done the birthday button thing, although you can be darned sure that I'm getting my birthday gift card this year (the fastpass seems mostly worthless).
But I think next week Mr. Syndrome and I are going to don ears and anniversary buttons and walk around just for yucks. I was at the Idol media event during our anniversary week, so my rep. gave me ears, buttons, and pins. We most definitely have to run around like geeks wearing our anniversary stuff, but the parks have been too darned crowded this past week.

Mom is undocumented so how does she get the annual pass and birthday thing if she has on photo ID and no birth certificate and no passport? That is so not fair.
I call Calvin hun of honey because my brain sometimes cannot quickly remember his name. I do that with other people so nothing romantic but maybe we should pose as a couple and get something for out future wedding or what ever. The guy has slept in the house and he once slept in the same space as me as in the car, lol.

That'd be Jacob. But don't feel too bad, our City Hall lead accepted a PRINTOUT of a guest's IMDB PROFILE as acceptable ID yesterday. A PRINTOUT OF THEIR IMDB PROFILE!!!!!!!!!!! I almost walked off the job.

I saw a Monorail CM do this the other day at the Epcot station. I go up to the CM at the end of the platform for the front cab and she said sure. As I was waiting for the train and talking to CM two ladies with Birthday buttons on come up behind me to wait for the train but didn't ask for the cab (they didn't know one could). When the train pulls in and the doors open the ladies went for the first car but the CM called them up to the front. Very magical for the two ladies.

So, that was nice of them but mom does not have one of those either so she is out of the birthday stuff.
If you see Mark hug him for me though he does not seem like the hugging type.

[Begin Disney's Magical Express joke]
Well, look at it this way, at least there not accepting Wanted Posters yet :p: .
[/End Disney's Magical Expresss joke]
(Though, at this rate, it's only a matter of time that they do...:rolleyes :)
I have a SCMT related to this whole thing. I was walking with another CM when we ran into a guest wearing a birthday button at a Fastpass station. They were trying to figure out how to use their tickets -including their Free Birthday Ticket- to get Fastpasses.
We help them and engage in pleasant conversation (can I get my reward for initating guest contact and creating service solutions, please :p :) when the other CM mentions that they should go to City Hall to get their Birthday Fun Card. I quickly step in, point out that they already got free admission, and we go on our merry way.
I mention to the other CM that they only get EITHER the Free Admission OR the Alternative Gift. He says that he thought they got BOTH, and apparently that's what he, and quite a few other Attractions CMs had been telling guests for a while

. Sorta like magic, the next day, there's a note from Main Entrance/Guest Relations Management advising us of that fact.
Let me take this chance to unilaterally apologise to our Plaid- and Burger King-wearing collegues. It does sorta explain why we've been getting the evil eye from them recently :p: .
