It's going to be tough trying to model the "Wham Bam Tram" without a way to program SG drivers turning in front of oncoming trains. Make sure you have a couple of extra pages to store the damaged trams, too!

He'd probably build his designs for monorail stations at the parks and resorts that don't have them.

He modeled a very nice Studios station in the form of a section of film that looped over the platform for a roof, and a log structure for Ft. Wilderness. Nice as his models were, you could really do them proud with this software.

Bother, now I'm all sad again. Plus another group I'm in is organizing a memorial Trail's End breakfast in his honor for next December. Gonna be some salty orange juice at that table.

Uh, Wombat, I need those files. Jill went to Best Buy today and picked up the collection, $19.99! I had been checking online and the closest one was in the Woodlands

So far I managed to route a monorail to the Contemporary, took over and headed out only to run into an oncoming train! Woo!

I want them too! And if someone could send me all the monorail files as the online download place hates me and won't let me in.

If you got the collection, it comes installed with 2006. Did you register your serial number on the site?

I don't want to register my serial number on the site ;) I just want to play with BR's monorail.

Wow, you got a deal. My collection included TRS 2004, 2006, and the Ultimate Trainz Collection for $49 -- probably way more than I need, in retrospect.

I'm more than willing to pass along my files, but first bear in mind that it's a work in progress and I'm far from done. Although I have set up a few scenarios with trains operating, right now I'm concentrating on creating "the World" and less on making it all run properly in "Driver" mode. There's lots left to do -- not to say it won't be fun to look around at what's been done so far.

The second issue is how I can get the files to you. We can't use the Trainz Download Station (yet), because (1) I don't want to put the project out for the public at large until it's a lot closer to completion, and (2) even if I wanted to, there are a lot of required packaging steps I haven't done yet to get them ready for the Download Station. Eventually I'll put them there, but not yet.

What I might try is this: I should be able to save the whole bundle into one or more ".cdp" files that Trainz can unpack and import. I'll put those files on the web and pass along the location by PM to those interested. This may take a few days, while I figure out how to package the files and then get them uploaded (I still have dial-up at home!). I let you know.

On the development front, I'm getting closer to building functional stations. The first time I got the Poly station going, the train was about three feet too high next to the platform, and the doors opened on the wrong side, but it's getting there. Here's the Polynesian station (in the gmax modeling program):

My current "building" project is the Magic Kingdom station:

I've also completed the tollbooth for Magic Kingdom parking:

After these are done and working I'll building the GF station, the Wedding Pavilion (& "Franck's"), the TTC, and possibly the ferry docks. Then I'll try to focus on the details of setting up the trains and do the detailed landscaping.

I'll try to get some new photos from within the virtual World posted here soon -- I found a variable I had set incorrectly that was preventing my buildings from showing shading based on the position of the sun, so that all of the buildings looked evenly lit from all angles. That's been fixed now. The new look is 100x more realistic!

Cool! If the files are too large can you burn them to cd? Then we'll have an excuse to meet up and I can put them on one of my websites. Otherwise I can wait :D

Thanks!

Here's the information as I promised in the other thread. I put them in pylon #'s for now just so we have the data, then we can figure out the best way to place the Speedboards & Beamtop Visiual Signals. I will have to look at some videos that I took and go on Google Earth then I'll post again with my suggested placements.
