It's Grad Nite Time Again...
Re: It's Grad Nite Time Again...
Whoa, what happened that the Subs were closed on GradNite? They trash em or something the first one?
And when I saw the TSMM CMs leaving before BlastOff one the last GradNite, I was happy. Keep our newest attraction good and away from the unruly grads.

Just stupid to keep it open. The amount of staff needed, for the length of time it's open (can't keep the subs running all night....they need to recharge on the tracks or something)....it was just stupid.
Although, something like 4 of the subs we were running that night needed the inner portholes replaced on a couple seats each.....damn kids etched them while the sub marshalls weren't looking. Might be another reason. I dunno. They don't tell me squat. *LOL*

About 3 years ago my friend and another worker were selling water at Festival Areana. Power 106 was having a dance contest. 2 different schools got into a fight. There was a stabbing and 10 students were kicked out of the park. The other student had some gashes and was sent to the hospitol.
Now for the second story. On the last grad nite about 2 years ago, about
4 am a motor cyclist was traveling at high rate of speeds. This guy lost control around the hill next to the Disneyland Hotel. He wipes out and severs a leg. Now, at 4:30 am a female motorist was not paying attention and blew a red light. She was not paying attention and crashed into the cyclist. 4:45 am an LAPD motor officer was riding his motor cycle and did not see the crash in front of him and ran into the lady's car. That morning the parking structure and the roads around the park were closed. The first cyclist died instantly from his injuries. Disneyland security found his leg on property. Poor dude. The lady was cited for running the light. She was also sent to the hospitol. The officer that hit the lady's car was also sent to the hospitol too.

Had to deal with a girl who OD'ed on ecstasy. That was just the start of a stretch covering an hour and forty minutes in which I had to deal with two kids smoking pot, two separate kids that jumped out of the boat, two couples doin' it on a boat, and APD being called out for who-knows-what.ShootinHippos wrote:And in honor of it, I want to know about the craziest thing you've ever caught a guest doing.

On my schools grad nite (2004) I took my cousin (who's friend worked on Star tours). While loading our cabin, his friend told us that some one peed in the other cabin and he just finished cleaning it. I don't think that was an accident.

Re: It's Grad Nite Time Again...
I never minded working grad nights....most of the kids are actually there just to have fun...sure you have to work overnight which sucks...and you have to listen to the same 14 or 15 songs that Disney has approved to play...but other than that you meet people you normally dont work with...so it broadens your ability to network throughout the parks...plus you do get paid a little bit more per hour and for me having that extra coin in my pocket always makes it worth while...
