First: In response to Ktulu's picture that would piss off other families if they saw it...It pisses me off! Who do you think you are to hog all those characters at once when other people have to wait in line for hours to meet characters? (j/k :D: that's a cool pic and you've got a cute kid...although I still don't really care for kids...)

Second: In response to Disney not giving a shit about things they shouldn't give a shit about...who gives a shit? There are not enough hours in my day to worry about things like whether an actress is differently abled. If they put something about discrimination to a vote (like banning guys from marying guys or girls from marying girls or transgendereds from looking hotter than a lot of "natural" girls out there...you know who you are, ugly girls!) I'll vote against discrimination every time. If it happens in front of me, I'll commit a hate crime because I hate people who discriminate. Other than those instances, who has time to worry or talk about this? I'm too busy trying to catch up with the ADD thread to be concerned about an actress with a wheelchair, a leg brace, a helmet, or even a kite shaped like a monkey with six asses. You following me on that? Good. Moving on...

Third: Parents need to be in charge. There is no further explanation needed. You're not there to be your kid's friend, you're not just along for the ride as though you had no hand in the creation of your dumb little accident, and you're not going to survive mistreating it for long. It turns out that the little shits raised by parents who aren't paying attention grow up and hack their parents to death with butcher knives just like the overbearing parents' kids...or at least they get a trench-coat and shoot up their schools. Parents: pay some damn attention, be in charge and lead from the front by setting a good example! You're lives may depend on it!

Fourth: for the rest of us who know that the world is overpopulated, unstable, and totally immoral (and not in the way church people might think) as it is, and feel no need to subject another life to it...good on ya'! I know some of you are thinking: "I'm just waiting till I'm a little more stable, and then I'll have one of my own! My progeny will be well behaved because I've been paying attention so I'll know how to be a good parent!" No! Don't kid yourself! I'm just playin' the odds here, but the things still don't come with instruction manuals, and it sure seems like there are way more bad parents than good ones. Odds are, no matter what you tell yourself, you'll be a crappy parent, and your kid will annoy the shit out of anyone in a one hundred yard radius. Even the ones who seem like they have a firm grasp on the whole parenting thing lose it once in a while. I see a glaring example in this thread...

[...cut here to try to keep from offending people...]

...so that's why it's a small world is a worthless ride.

Thanks,
Joshua

Edited to add: Dude! I managed to use "ass" and "shit" in the same paragraph...and I didn't have to use the obvious connection to do it! I'm so proud I'm tearing up a little! :D:

It was at closing, the characters were heading in for the night, and they thought that playing with a cute 2 year old was better than playing with SG's who were left :p:

And just think, if you'd really invited me along with you, you'd have a :wombat: in the middle of that picture!!! Don't you feel bad about leaving me now??? :D:

And if you're going to include your :wombat: , you also need to have a :wallaby: present. It's in the contract...somewhere...

I feel horrible, I'll make it up to you by being your OFFICIAL photographer, and the best part is you won't need to buy the CD from me at the end of your trip, I'll give one or more to you!

ktulu wrote:I respectfully must disagree. Abby has been to DL twice, and WDW once. It's not a matter of age, but the parent being able to judge their child. Abby got restless on the flight home (over-tired, couldn't get her to sleep) and we did get complaints coming back from DLR, but in our defense, the woman was a stuck up bitch with fake tits, the "trophy" wife of the guy (obvious 2nd marriage, 2 older kids and one younger one), he didn't say a word. Even the gate agent who we had meet the plane, agreed :D:

Anyway, Abby had fun on her first trip, characters not so much.
Oh my, What a cute little girl! Adorable! :) And that last pic with ALL the characters, I am jealous. I want MY picture with all of them! LOL! And the pic with Minnie, oh, that is just precious! Very cute!!!!! You can never tell with kids. Some do really well with the characters, others not so much. We don't have any children so we live vicariously through those who do, (our next door neighbor has a 6 yr old daughter and twinners that are 3, I think). They went to WDW this year and he shared all the pics with me. Soooooo...cute. He said they did okay with some characters, not so good with others. He also said it depended on their mood a lot, if they wanted to interact with the characters or not. Kids are cool. I just never really had a burning desire to be a mom and met someone who did not want kids either. Kids really like me and I love to talk with them and play, but then they get to home with their parents when I am done having fun.
Thanks for sharing your cute pics. :D:

I agree! So does my wife. Except that she doesn't really like kids all that much. Occasionally, she does get a maternalistic bent to her. But that's not very often.

We've actually decided to skip the kids and go straight to the grandkids. Still working on the mechanics and biology of that.

When you figure that one out, tell me! Grandparents get the best part of the deal!!!!! That would be great, grandkids without having to go through all that...that... joy of child rearing. I know some love it and are great at it. I know I would not love it. But yep, grandkids would be a blast. I watch my parents with my brother's young'uns and they seem to have so much fun, I wonder why they did not have that much fun with us as kids. LOL! It's the "grandkids" thing. :D:

Here's how it works: first you get a couple of best friends, then when they eventually have their first son, they'll name him after you (well, I guess daughter in your case) and then you can be the kid's god-parent. From what I gather, it's a whole lot like being a grandparent (you get to spoil the kid rotten and then just give it back to it's parents when you're done) but without all the difficulties of having any of your own before you get to the fun part. :D: [Note: my best friends told me of their intentions a few years back before I was the minister at their wedding, and I'm all for it. However, I'm still encouraging them to wait quite a while before they decide to actually execute this plan... People are having kids well into their 40's and even 50's now so there's no need to rush things...and "never" could be a great time to have kids too! ]

Or you just make sure that you have an incredibly virile sibling who passes it on to his offspring. My brother produced eight rugrats, and now they're of an age when they are producing the new generation. No need for me to reproduce, as he has done enough to carry on our family line (not necessarily a good thing, either).
