Belgarion42 wrote:It is. the longest verse is actually Esther 8:9 - "At once the royal secretaries were summoned—on the twenty-third day of the third month, the month of Sivan. They wrote out all Mordecai's orders to the Jews, and to the satraps, governors and nobles of the 127 provinces stretching from India to Cush. These orders were written in the script of each province and the language of each people and also to the Jews in their own script and language."

72 words (in the NIV, in the KJV it's 90 words) in one verse! :)
And longest chapter: Psalm 119. Shortest chapter: Psalm 117 -- just two verses long! (Also a favorite of kids told to read a chapter.)

My favorite verse has long been Proverbs 27:14 -- "If a man loudly blesses his neighbor early in the morning, it will be taken as a curse." (I'm not an early riser by nature.)

I also had a friend in high school who swore he started his dates on a spiritual note -- by reading Ecclesiastes 4:11, "... if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?". (This of course preceded the speaking in tongues and laying on of hands. ;) )

Now... what was the topic of this thread again??? Hey, look, a bird!

Geez, what did I start?

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

I figure it this way. You may have started it, but we all enjoyed it enough to fan the flames higher. Its when I start something and it drops like a lead brick that I begin worrying.

It may take a village, but it takes an entire village of village idiots to make the village fun. :D:

Yep, another quote stolen by me.
