I saw my first executive on New Year's, I knew that was a bad sign!
Wow, what did you do that was so severe that an executive came to yell at you? ;)

What's an Operating Participant? I know what the rest are but that one.

Just out of curiosity, how long does a new hire have a temporary ID before getting their permanent one?

People such as the balloon sellers, or the people that work in the DTD non-Disney Stores or restaurants such as Earl of Sandwich, etc. These people are not Disney employees, but will wear name tags and technically are subject to the same rules as CMs. They will get generally the same privledges, including Maingate Passes and discounts, as actual CMs.

Your initial temporary (white) ID card will have an expiration date 100 calendar days from first employment. On or after the 90th day, but no later than the 100th, you will have to go to access control for your photo and permanent ID card. They will not process it before the 90th day, while if it is after the 100th you have to get a manager to send an e-mail to access control before they will issue the new pass. And it's a real PITA if you miss the 100th day.

Yes, it is. I know someone who did. Please, if you come to work for the Mouse, make sure you do NOT miss that 100 days.

I'd try my best to be there on my 90th day. The sooner I get a permanent ID the better.

LOL, no it was so crazy that they were considering shutting down the land pavilion until more people left and I think it was Jim McPhee but I'm not 100% sure. As for missing the 100 day I had to do because I wasn't currently on a season when it happened. It wasn't that big of a deal. I just had to make sure I got a security memo from my manager sent to access control so they would make me a new id when I got back down there during my next season.

I missed my 100 day by 1 day. It kinda sucked. I had to call Epcot from access control, and get my manager to email ac so I could get my yellow ID. But it didn't take too long at all.

Not always. I remember when the VIP Guest badges (the forerunner of the GOH badges) came out, MANY of the CMs I saw were suprized by them and were completely unaware that they were selling them on Main St. And this happened on two seperate trips a year apart so I know that in that one case the CM rumor mill was VERY slow in keeping everyone informed.

Same with the 50th "gold" Guest of Honor badges. I had numerous CM compliments and things like "Cool, where'd you get those."

Could be that they were just make pleasant "Guest Interaction", but they honestly seem surprised by them.
