SG ALERT
There is a big post at Brand X Boards saying that they took over 2 dozen old fast passes and used them with no questions asked. There is a lot of bragging going on about using outdated fast passes. One person jokingly, I hope, said he was going to bring a printer next time.
I hope Disney snoops read that and singe some tail feathers of them cheaters.

Oh well... while I think it is kind of stupid to do, if they have old fastpasses, and they dont get caught doing it, is there really any harm done?
I guess if I were to try and use one of the old fastpasses I have sitting around here, I would consider myself lucky if it worked, and consider myself caught if I got called out on it. I would never argue with a CM about it.

There are new FP machines out in being installed property-wide at WDW. They have the date and time in much larger type, as well as they are bar-coded.

Space Mountain is getting new FP machines, in fact I'm glad I had today off so I didn't have to hear guests complaining about no fast passes.
I did have a guest come up to return once with FP's that had expired 2 years ago. :D lol

She would just get annoyed when, when the park first opened, people would come over and get FPs instead of just riding right then, when there was maybe a 5 min. line if that. So she be yelling at people coming towards the machines, "No! Just go ride now! Don't get FP's!" She didn't do the override thing to get rid of the tickets, really, but more to bump the times up, so people would be more likely to just wait in line, rather than coming back later. Does that make sense? I don't know if I'm explaining it well!
Maybe I am misunderstanding but there's a very good reason to get FP's for rides like Pan first thing. You grab the FP and then go off to another hot attraction. Ride that attraction. Then when you go back to Pan (which as we all know can build up a line quickly) and use your FP with no wait.
I do agree that if there is a ten minute wait it's silly to get a FP and use it right away.

Welp my theories have been confirmed. Yesterday we got a message in CDS to look for 'odd looking' FPs, as there were some suspected fakes going around. What effort people will go through to skip lines...

UPDATE!
As of a few weeks ago (maybe more than a month, I haven't been paying attention) Pan and Philhar FP (Not sure about Pooh but my guess would be this is true there too) machines are not to have any stay unlocked for overrides, to prevent guests from sneaking back and finding the button. We have been given a pouch with the key and a small stack of keycards, and instructed to try all alternative methods before giving out overrides or using a keycard. It's good in the aspect of being able to stop the phonies and cheaters, but it sucks because it holds up the line of people to get FPs since you have to run around from machine to machine trying to get a ticket to work. Luckily the new machines tend to read more of the cards more of the time...
Remember how they said the new machines are "jam-proof"? Yeah... had one bad paper jam last week. I guess when they do jam now its big.

Not if you're an obsessive like me who likes to ride my favorites repetitively. For example, I rode Soarin' 8 times on Sun. through a judicious combination of FP and the standby line. I get a FP first, then ride standby till it either a) gets unreasonable; or b) my FP time comes, at which time I get another FP, ride with my current one, then return later for a last ride.

Great quote from Ebay from a seller who is offering expired Fastpasses:
Q: what are the expiration dates
A: Epiration date on the two is 8/31/07. I just used them 2 weeks ago and the employee that gave them to me was right they didnt even look at the date. I know Disney doesnt like to spoil the magic, so they wouldnt say anything if they did notice an exp. date any way.
I imagine they probably overlook home printed ones so as not to spoil the magic too.

Guess that person never tried to go threw FP before their time. When it comes to people with non valid FP we will 'spoil the magic' without a problem, and management will back us up about it. From what I understand we are not even one of the most strict attractions about it either.
