Ok... here's the latest update, then.

Apparently that smoking section wasn't removed completely -- just relocated to down the walkway leading to Sleepy Hollow Refreshments.

So, Fantasyland still has one.

Does that area get closed for fallout during Wishes? I watched wishes for the first time Saturday in fantasyland and it adds extra ..um.. flavor to have ash falling on you.

During Wishes, the area directly behind the castle (and both walkways leading from the back of the castle to Liberty Square & Fantasyland) are closed.

I stayed at CBR this weekend. My son has severe astham and we couldn't figure out why everytime he was in the room his asthma was terrible, until I saw this lady smoking outside her room (2 doors down from us) and the smoke came into our room. I loaded my son up on albuterol and steroids. We were in a non-smoking. The whole building was non-smoking. I didn't say anything to her directly. When we were in the room, I put a towel at the door to try to block the smoke from coming in. The whole thing made me upset, because his asthma had been doing so great, then this set him off. I really debated whether or not to say anything to her. She was obviously a chain smoker by the number of butts sitting on the ground all weekend by her room.

For you smokers out there, what would have been the best thing to say to her and the best way to say it? Say nothing as I did, or explain about my son and ask if she could step away from the building to smoke?

I work in a non-smoking hotel as well. We try to catch the idiots who don't follow our rules by making them pay an extra $150 dollars. The best thing I could say is let someone who works there know. If you say something to the guest, they may get all pissed and start drama with you. Your safety isn't worth that. We ( hotel employees ) are there to get rid of troublemakers. I agree she should have gone over to the designated area. Also, for future hotel stays, let the front desk know when you are checking in about his condition. Where I work, we try to make your visit as comfortable as possible. A guest told us she was having trouble breathing in her room (she had various allergies) so we placed a special fan in there to remove airborne bacteria and pollens. I ALWAYS go outside to hammer a nail when we get a non-smoking room. If someone is bothered by the smoke I have NO problem moving,but that's just me. Whenever my g-kids are over I go outside also. And yes epcotgolfer, smokers poop too.

I had a similar situation...we were at the La Quinta from Hell (not the one right at the airport north exit...the one on Daetwyler Drive). We had a non-smoking room, so I couldn't figure out why the towels reeked of smoke in the bathroom...soon enough, our whole room started to smell like smoke. We were in a connecting room, and when I investigated, I discovered the room on the other side of the door was a smoking room!! And they wouldn't move us because we were on a cheap Priceline rate. Thank goodness it was only for one night, prior to a cruise. By the next morning, my sinuses were completely plugged, my nose was running like a faucet, and my eyes looked like I had been crying for a week.

Not all of us. It's a nasty habit so I gave up defacating last year as my new year's resolution! :D:
