Along with the Perfect Tan comes a little melanoma. Today's UV Index is 11 - Extreme. That's why umbrella trees like the monkey pod and banyan are so popular.

The California Maritime Academy's Training Ship Golden Bear stopped in Hawaii on their way to Cabo San Lucas. We were invited aboard for a tour.
Bridge
Engine Room Control Station
Starboard Main Engine
Port Main Engine
This means the sewage treatment system has sprung a leak.
Our Club secretary met some cadets.

All those great pics from the Golden Bear and no overall shot! I had to go looking to see what she looked like.
I have always loved touring ships. Just went a week ago to tour the USS Slater (DE 766) in Albany, NY. It's the last DE afloat. Can't imagine living and working in those quarters in the North Atlantic. Those men were of hardy stock!
