The lesson I took away from all this is: If I ever make it to Hawai'i, I can save money by sleeping on Hobie's front lawn. (And hope he has the sprinklers turned off.) :D:

No tents needed. Other than a few weeks in February when the temps fall into the high 50s, it's very pleasant. We always sleep with all the windows open.

No ear pods either. If you wear them you won't hear the geckos kissing and the little itty bitty frogs chirping.

The front yard has thicker grass but the back yard has neater stuff.

We almost had the owner of Maui Brewing as a next door neighbor. It was a short sale and he gave up after the bank screwed around for nine months. My wife was planning on extending a pipe through the wall into his underground brewing bunker

I saw that this morning and knew you would be all over it. That would get your heart racing a little.

The smallest boat I've gone whale watching on was a 65 foot catamaran. I've seen kayakers approach whales. They must be crazy.

They are just hoping to live through it so they have a good story to tell at parties.

Whale watch numero two-o.

The Department of Whale Security was out in force.

Image

A pod of spinners led us out of the harbor.

Image

A whale greeted us.

Image

Another popped up to check us out.

Image

The spinners closed out the day with an air show.
