Official SGT ADD thread

At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

Does anyone else here get a sort of vertigo when they go thru the automatic car washes? I can't stand the optical illusion that the car is moving when it is staying in the exact same spot.....only the beginning of Space Mountain gives me that dizzy feeling, but it is more brief.susislicker wrote:Another way to wash clothes and take a shower at the same time is to walk through one of those drive thru carwarshes...You get squeaky clean and a wax job at the end ;)
susi *oh, I am so in trouble* slicker
Also, does anyone else ever worry that they'll get smacked by a loose flying object on Space Mountain? I know, I have ISSUES.

No, but I worry about hitting one of the beams that cross the track. I'm 6'5" and those beams seem awfully close. I'm scared to put my arms up at all and tend to duck down a little.DisneyMom wrote:Also, does anyone else ever worry that they'll get smacked by a loose flying object on Space Mountain? I do that and I'm only 5'8". I actually spend most of my time trying to force my entire body down below the top of the backrest, or at least below the top of the head of the kid in front of me. That way, I know that the cars were made to at least clear the backrest, and if the head of the kid in front of me doesn't come flying my way, I know I'm below the top of his head so I'm safe.Shorty82 wrote:No, but I worry about hitting one of the beams that cross the track. For that reason, I tend to stay off Space Mountain.
And now all you who know me are visualizing me trying to cram myself into the footwells of the Space Mountain cars. :D:
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Re: Official SGT ADD thread
I'm staying off of Space until they refurb it because of how rough it is, not the closeness of beams. I don't know the actual clearance of the beams (and I don't really want to know, partly because I don't know how high my head is above the tack) but it is probably more than it looks. I have a feeling the darkness makes them seem a lot closer than they really are. It helps I have long legs so my head isn't as high above the track as I could be.Big Wallaby wrote:I do that and I'm only 5'8". I'm already folded up some just to fit in the rocket so there's only so far I can duck down. It helps I fold well!
